Hey Guys
Thinking of heading out off mindarie tomorrow morning for a troll behind 3 mile
Whats the weed situation like?
And Water temperature?
Would it be worth it?
Cheers

dived behind steggies
dived behind steggies yesterday, water temp was 19-20 degrees, moderate amount of weed on the surface. Didn't see any pelagics.
I think you would be better off heading out to the 30's - 40's and sounding bait + looking for birds. There will be little weed and better chance of getting onto tuna.
I personally wouldn't start trolling for macs for another couple weeks but you never know your luck off mindarie

I went out on Saturday
I went out on Saturday from Mindarie and trolled out to the Gemini wreck. There was lots of seaweed around fouling up the lures. Didn't see any birds working the surface or bait around out there.
Some of the other guys have been getting into the tuna so it's definitely worth a try. You just need to find the buggers.
