re 3000series antena
I had one that died too. Check out the forums on the net- the 3000 doesnt get a very good wrap, neither does the technical support from Lowrance. I phoned around for a price (around $400-$450 from memory!) and thought bugger this, and just bought a new unit (HDS7). Funny how the antena crapped itself 6 days after the waranty expired. Man I hate technology. Cant live with it, cant live without it.

Lowrance LGC 3000
G'day Paul, I tried to provide a link but the item description was too long, but have a look on eBay.com, item # 120537954792. It might be interesting to see how that auction pans out.

What about a coathanger?
they work for car radios. You can even shape them to look cool. Maybe a fish shape like a marlin?
