Sand whiting but KG's is
Sand whiting but KG's is going to be a tall order.
Chuck some lures for tailor, you should kill it stalking the beaches north of Rabbits early morning & evening. Call into Dunsborough Outdoor Sportz & speak to Dave & Damo for the local update

Yallingup is easy - Head to
Yallingup is easy - Head to the reefs at the far end of the beach there is a single lump first off then the rest of the reefy section starts.
Fish to the left of the first lump with a sinker and gang and cast just beyond it there is always a deep gutter there. Alternatively fish just to the right of the lump and the rest of the reef into the deep gutter which runs between them. An unweighted mulie will do nicely or a stickbait, chuck and retrieve. Next up move about another 50m down there is a consistent deep pool in front of the reef which is goo for a cast with a mulie or stickbait.
You will get plenty of tailor and herring in any of the spots above, I caught and returned 10-12 nice little tailor a few weeks back from the first spot, the guy up the beach caught a horse of a taior (i thought he had snagged himself a mulla at first) it went 75cm + and he was mid way along the reef.
For whiting fih nearer the bathers reef just off it with some burley, I have snorkled there plenty and there are always plenty of good whiting hanging around the edge of the reef. anice little paternoster eith prawn or worm should do it, I like the BlackMagic kl hooks for whiting etc they are a nice wide gape circle and i find the hook up rate is top notch.
For good bait head to the bait farm on the way in to Dunns.
Alternativey Smiths beach can be good for tailor or any of the reefs north of Yallingup (3 bears) up to Windmills at the top end - but stay out of the surfers way it can get a bit territorial at times. Areas around Meelup can be great for smaller bread and butter species and the odd salmon, but flies can be a nightmare.
I will be down this weekend for a fish and surf so may see you down there.

Hi Thought id report back
Hi
Thought id report back from Yallingup trip.
I went to that location as mentioned by Greyheads1, and it was golden advice. Go about 1km down the beach, you can park at the far car park passed yallingup main beach. Go to the lookout point, and walk down the sand track, and right there in front of you is a fishing hole/gutter. Cant miss it, the rest of the beach is near impossible to fish with reef, tide, swell. Stick to the spot directly when you come off the sandy path. I was there with 2 other blokes, we caught 5 tailor, and they were woppers! 60cm+,
Rig to use: 3 way swivel, 45-55g weight give plenty of space from the weight to the swivel, ( dont use star sinker it will get snagged)
ganged hooks, red fluro bead, mullies. between 5-7pm best time.
Also was snorkeling in main beach, plenty of whiting around, hit the sandy areas next to reef, seems to be were they are located mostly

happy to help.I didnt get
happy to help.
I didnt get much chance for fishing this trip and spent most of the time surfin in the mornings out off the reef but sounds like you did very well. I was planted above a school of ~500+ herring at one point before a small pod of dolphins came through.
To be honest most of the reef holes down there produce and its worth hunting around a bit to find the fish but obviously you did straight away. I did take a walk down the far end and was surprised by how much the formation has changed over summer (in as little as a month - which was the period since our last visit). Its a good little patch for some big flathead as well I have managed to bag several over 50cm on a couple of occasions.
well done again.
