Another golden sunrise at Groote!
Well at last that bloody high has moved out of the bight, and brought some better fishing conditions for up here. Left the ramp at 5am, now i have my new lights installed. Headed to a close spot about 4 mile from the ramp, a small patch of coral reef on the edge of an island, in 30 m of water. Gentle eastly blowing, and the current wasnt to bad at all.
Very quiet on the sounder. Hunted around until i found some blue flares and a couple of big red dots on my sounder. This was looking good so i set drift a couple of times, and picked up two nice goldies in the 50cm range...thats tea sorted.
Chased some schools of tuna around for a while, and gave the squidgies a work out. Caught and released a couple of tuna, then headed in close. Found some likey looking bombies, but there was no trout to be found. Decided to call it a day as the eastly was starting to turn to the south. Home by 0930, nice easy mornings fish. Now to do the dishes and washing before the mrs gets home from work..Russ!
