Yep another good image , Could you please tell me how you have the r299 mounted , ie internal or external fairing block and what speed can you sound for fish out in 250 m in calm weather.
Im just trying to make my mind up between the fcv1150 or the 295 and which tranny set up to go for.
Also wondering if the furuno chirp is worth waiting for.
Its a big unit..needs lots of space. Dual variable frequency broadband tranni. Its cheaper to buy two seperate tranni's but I wanted the narrow cone angle for deep work. As it turns out in 50 meters of water it has only a 10 meter circle of view. So the detail is greater and that fish you see is only 5 meters from your bait when you see it directly under the boat. I have a 585 running a standard tranni alongside and the return detail is chalk and cheese
Scottnofish is my brother. Same boat, we share it.
Noha , Thanks for that , Ive just bought the fcv1150 and still deciding on the tranny setup and just found out that the 1150 is not chirp enabled so that narrows the field a bit.
