Dont think there is any carp
Dont think there is any carp in there, it dries out each year so I couldn't see how they would survive.

actually curious about this too as to whether there is any local places, carp being pests are still great fun to catch and can put on a great fight i used to fish 1kg line for them in the yarra in melbourne and used to have a ball catching them up to 8 and 9kg's

Apparently lake monger used
Apparently lake monger used to have a decent population, don't know if it still does. Spotted a 3 kilo specimen sunning and feeding in my local duck pond last week, didn't know they were there. Won't be there for much longer mind you ;)
VAGABOND
I use to catch them down
I use to catch them down near the Nicholson Rd Bridge in Cannington years ago. A couple pound line with a Quill float and very small hook, cant rember the size, used bread or dough for bait. Casted next to the floating lillies and weed, very relaxing fishing! We put them in a keep net then released them.

Theyve just taken 400 tonnes
Theyve just taken 400 tonnes of the bloody things dead & dying out of our local lake.(COLAC)( Thats 20 semitrailer loads)because the lake is receding fast & getting too salty for them to live. There are still heaps of them littering the banks all round, but its too bloody muddy to get them unless by skiff while they are in still floating in water.
The stink can be F#*>"-~ awful depending on the wind!
Some idiots got homesick & brought carp out to Aust along with rabbits, foxes, sparrows, starlings & blackbirds!!
6 good reasons why I am moving from Vic. to WA. Yeah I know you got rabbits & foxes, but please NO carp!!
I`d rather be fishin`!!!

Perry Lakes
Seen some XXL koi/carp wallowing about in one of the Perry Lakes when i went to the gardening expo a week ago. Was dead easy to see these things just swimming around. Might be a bit of fun on light tackle!

True Freobear
Actaully, now that you mention it, yes, they do (dry up). The one I saw in North lake was many years ago. In those days both lakes were constantly full of water.

bring out the 1kg line and
bring out the 1kg line and have some fun, they good fighters on light line especially the biggers ones like 7 and 8 kilo
UncleStu
CARP
Mullafeild obviously dosen't like the taste of carp
If any body else cares the lakes /excavations are at the corner of great est hwy and roe hwy diagonaly across from midland brick
There is some good size fish in there. It might be a good afternoons entertainment .
A good chance to pracice some of the finer points of fishing.
Rather than draging fish up on a winch .Which I would consider to be rather unsporting
Cheers Uncle Stu
