After hearing about the drowning at the traffic bridge and also fishing this spot pretty often along with many other dangerous placed like sugarloaf rocks , steep point, canal rocks etc.
My mate sent me a link to one of these beauties.....

Auto inflate!!! If you end up in the drink it will inflate automatically, no need to fumble around looking for a cord.
Anyone keen on getting one pm me and i will see if we can get a desent order for discount.
Doesnt seem like much to pay to save a life

Not Bad
I probably wouldn't recommend Auto Inflate though as you don't want it going off in the rain or sea spray.
I have been told that most of them have a cardboard sensor so they can go off with just spray.
I have seen some Bum Bag styles that would be great for Landbased as they wouldn't get in the way.
Boaties beware alot of them say PFD1 but are only approved PFD1 in Vic and QLD. There are ones that are appoved PFD1 here.
Have a great day.

they are good, but must have
they are good, but must have PFD1 AS1512 on them to be acceptable as a pfd1. i have a manual inflating one which was sold as such, but didnt have it printed on the jacket itself, thius making it unacceptable to the marine and harbours people... so i carry it plus the usual faom style jackets...i mainly wear it when the kids are onboard, to set a example....

I asked about auto inflate
I asked about auto inflate and how they go off. He said there is a section out of the way of weather etc on the inside and there is a tablet that will desolve when you hit the water . Good for if you hit your head on the rocks etc and pass out on the way in
NoWorries
Yep
It does seem like a great idea. Would be good for Rock fishing.
Has anyone here had anything to do with the auto inflate ones and confirm either way ??
Have a great day.

The auto ones need to be
The auto ones need to be emersed in water for two seconds to activate. I have and use the manual ones for bream spinning in comps and you do also want to try different styles for comfort.
One went of on a guy once i new and he had it under his wet weather gear. Anyway no stretch at all in his wet weather gear and it nearly crushed his lungs
