PB Calamari this morning

Headed out this morning early from Freo and went for a squid. Ended up with about 10 and kept 5. Found them taking a liking to a black yozuri and got this big girl on a cheap $2 jig in green..they really put up a fight when they get bigger.

Thought I'd throw this up as something a bit different, close up profile of a thorny devil.

You don't get many days like this where the ocean is a mirror image to the sky. This photo was taken in March this year as a couple of workmates and myself were on our way barra fishing. Wish it was like this everyday!!

Northern Mulloway

Northern Mulloway

Nice meaty Jew caught while live baiting for Barra. Was lucky to retreive the fish into the boat as it went around the anchor rope twice and a couple of good snags.

Dampier Archipelligo overnight trip

Dampier Archipelligo overnight trip

Myself and my workmate decided to do an overnighter a couple of weeks ago, as wind conditions of late have hampered any chances of having a decent fish out wide. Both armed with braided Tyrnos 30's (2-speed), we bottom bounced at the 50m mark. We were lucky enough to have major success on every pass over a productive patch. A well earned rest on one of the Islands was required and then managed to sneak in a morning session before heading home. Highlight of the trip was my mate landing a 35-40kg Cobia, big enough to snap the gaff in half!!!

Whales at play

Whales at play

Took the boat for a run yesterday, went out 'whale watching' round the corner to the Southern Ocean, saw a few whales out there playing in the sunshine and heading south

Spearfishing - Groote Eylandt - N.T

Spearfishing - Groote Eylandt - N.T

You can drive onto the reef and hover no less than 20 metres off the edge in less than 4 metres of water and this is what you'll expect. The odd croc has been spotted now and then so this is the handbrake. Smile
