Super Deep fishing is becoming very popular and something we've been doing for many years.
The last FW Special on " Super Deep " gear was very popular so we have repeated it again!

* Powered by saltwater.
* Lasts more than 100 hours.
Esca Light " HOW DOES IT WORK" Check out the Youtube Link below:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNTk8dpF84E&NR=1&feature=endscreen
The Esca have been proven around the world and we have been asked for them before also but now after using them both with bait/patternoster rig setup and jigs we're impressed. They have a soft fade light and soft blink light so not intrusive and very stream line so perfect for bait rigs or jigs!!!!
We've used the Esca fading blue and the Esca blinking blue in the Super Deep and couldnt see a difference between the two but they work. We know a few commercial fisherman doing the Super Deep stuff with Esca and they have been using them periodically on different drop lines to test the results and they said to us they got more bigger fish and more blue-eye with the Esca attached " interesting ".

Squid Cleaning
Submitted by wangler on Mon, 2013-07-29 20:08Went out today and got 14 big squid off one of my productive patches out from Hillarys. I had a new squid esy cleaning tool set to try.
The Verdict
1. Easy to get the head and guts out without making a mess if you're care full, just practice.
2.It is easier, I find, just using your fingers to take off the wings. I guess more practice using the tool. Looks easy.
3.Turning the tube inside out was the tricky part, but managed in the end. When you pull the quiver out, it starts to pull the bottom inside out anyway, handy to know this, then just stick in the tool, use the correct size, I prefer the yellow(smallest one) even for the bigger squid.
The water was pretty bumpy today in close, so making cleaning all the more harder with slippery squid
It is a handy tool to have if you're not exactly an expert. I just watched the vid again, so next time I will just need to sharpen my technique
cheers

Quobba lure selection
Submitted by Snags on Mon, 2013-07-29 17:18I'm off to Quobba for the first time in about a week's time and i have accumulated a range of lures for the trip.
Now do you guys have a particular order or any advice as to what lure gets tied on first and/or for particular conditions?
Do i just start from the top and fish the surface first thing in the morning and then work my way down the water column?
Or do i just blindly pick a lure out of the box and try my luck?
Basically i have a range of lures and variety is the spice of life, but where do i start???
I'll be bringing 65-85gram metals, ritcher plugs, various poppers, xrap sxr14s, xrap subwalks, adagio heavys, bluescodes and a few packets of zman 8' streakz.
What species can I encounter this time of year? I guess that'll also affect lure selection.

APP for pingers
Submitted by xtont on Mon, 2013-07-29 08:11Look in App store for "compass eye". Its a beauty. And a great navigation aid as well! So now if anyone is taking more than one phone photo from more than one position, they most likely got you pinged. Even from a distance that will not be suspicious to you.
wk end Pink
Submitted by dant on Mon, 2013-07-29 07:40Day All,
So sunday was meant to be a bit of me and the wife time as the youngen was over the inlaws- so i thought beauty lets go fishing - rang up me mate and as usaul he was keen as musted (Jig King) so the mrs was on the backburner straight away, conditions didnt look flash but i thought this could work out well, she wont ask me to go again, anyway - it was a decent swell and lifted the boat a few times - was getting death stares as she was not happy to say the least, she got through it ok but added i wont be going out in those conditions again!!!
we were on a mission to grab some snapper in close on the wk end, managed 1, couple or sambos, a leopard shark and the usual skippy. As usual my mate seems to always get the best fish, and im left with the Camera - good to get something on board anyway. Snapper went 72cm and weighed 5kg.

Cheers All Dan

Favourite braid colour
Submitted by ctan1968 on Sun, 2013-07-28 15:35Hi all,
Having never fished with any other colour except dark green (Fins) and pink (Bionic), I was wondering what peoples favourite colour is for bottom fishing.

Just landed in WA. And need a catch
Submitted by Fletch72 on Sat, 2013-07-27 20:44Hi all,
We have just got settled in Mullaloo and ive wet a line on the south mole at Freo with no luck. Coming from a fresh water fishing background in the uk im not up on the old salty stuff, with me I have a spinning rod and a reel witn some 20lb braid, i have numerous sinkers, plugs, rubber baits and more hooks than i know what do to with.
What im after is what set up to use and what rigs to catch a feed of fish, ive even got some squid jigs in the hope of a little calamari.
So any pointers or advice would be great or if anyone would let me tag allong on a fishing trip that would be great, im not working just yet so i can get to the water anytime between applying for jobs and getting our ozzie paperwork in order.
Cheers
Chris

A whale of a tale
Submitted by meglodon on Sat, 2013-07-27 19:37Has anyone read the front page of the west Australian today, you can't miss the very large headlines "Cray industry Threat".
It appears that Tony Burk A.K.A. he who sleeps with P E W has sent that great treasurer/fisheries minister a letter threatening that "if you don't fix this problem then I will probably remove your right to export" Mr Buswell said
The letter is in reference to the large number of whales being caught up in the ropes of cray pots. According to Mr Buswell there are usually only three entanglements each year as whales migrate up the west coast to breeding grounds of the Kimberly, but the number has risen to about 20 since May. I wonder where this number came from
Strange I can't remember the coast being covered in dead whales who have been killed by becoming entangled in cray pot ropes, or seeing on the news every second night stories about whales being saved by Fisheries or D E C officers cutting ropes off them.
It's also a bit strange that the Western Rock Lobster Council chairman Basil Leano said " that though he thought Canberra's warning was less severe than Mr Buswell suggested, the loss of the industry's live export licence would be disastrous"
It would be interesting to see how this number of 20 came about, now I'm sure this Burk wouldn't tell porkies at the instigation of P E W - or would he?

Towing Vehicle
Submitted by D_d_001 on Sat, 2013-07-27 09:38Hey guys,
have a 6.1 alli boat 2 ish tonnes. the one to the left and take it north when I can couple times per year.
Looking for a second hand towing vehicle. have another car for everyday use so really one just for towing. used for horse floats pretty often as well.
am only looking at post 2004ish so please Im not after a GQ
have been looking at the 2004 ish HZJ 105 landcruisers. the 4.2 diesel model (non turbo) best fits my price range. (don't want to go back as far as the 80 series...just too old)
My question is really does this have enough guts. .....at 96KW does the torque the 4.2 diesel have make up for the poor power. I realise these cars are built to last and the lack of a turbo helps with longevity.
was also looking at the 2.5l turbo diesel Navara. (lots of you guys must drive these)
have read the threads of D22 vs D40 and the X mining vehicles threads etc. can get something like a 2008 with pretty low kms in my price range as well and these have 125KW power. quite a bit up from the LC
So anyone have experience towing with a 4.2l diesel non turbo LC or a 2.5l ST x ???
cheers

Tony Burke - at it again
Submitted by scotto on Sat, 2013-07-27 07:59front page of todays paper, saying that WA's $200 mil crayfishing industry could be shutdown, due to a higher rate of whales getting tangled in the ropes/floats. Far ken useless carnt Tony Burke, even though he is no longer the environment minister, still sticking his dirty little corrupted nose into marine sector, basically informing fisheries minister Captain Troy Buswell, that if the (whale) problem isn't fixed by 2015, he'll remove the right to export crays, just like he did with the cattle exports, crippling another great Australian iconic industry.
fuck all your safety shit destroying Australian industries ladies and gentlemen, another Labor term in leadership will be the final blow for this country.
anyone heard of secession? lets put up the fence...
