Navman 6500 fish tracker
Submitted by DJ on Mon, 2012-04-02 16:40Can some one give me some advice as to why my Navman 6500 fish tracker looses bottem at about 130m or can't see fish at 90m when there are some really big gold band on the bite.

Exmouth Advice needed!
Submitted by BigSpinna on Mon, 2012-04-02 07:21Hey guys new to fishwrecked the forum always pops up when im typing questions into google so thought it be best i join up so G'day!
Need some info I'm heading up to exmouth at the start of may with my folks and fiancé for 5 days. Folks are driving through the center and picking me up in my patrol from the mine I work at outside Newman.
We have a full day booked with onstrike charters just for the 4 of us and a day whale shark diving. What I wanted to know from anyone who has been up there is can u suggest some other sites/good fishing spots/sight seeing we should check out? Also what fishing gear we will require? Apart from the day with onstrike we will be land based.
I'm taking shimano starlo stix tour pro 2-4kg with 2500, t-curve 4-7kg with stradic 4000, 11ft heavy surf rod with 8000. What sort of terminal tackle, lures, plastics would you guys recommend? Weights, sizes and brands. Full newbie to the area so all and any advice very much appreciated!
Cheers
Chris

trailer brake lines
Submitted by grayzeee on Sun, 2012-04-01 18:12Went out to have a look over the boat, and noticed a brake pad lying on the floor. So , jack the trailer up and off with the wheel.
The pad had indeed come out , but before the previous fishing trip , so the piston was all smashed to pieces.
bugger as I'd done bearings and brakes last easter.
I knew I'd be opening a can of worms but off came all the wheels. The other pads were good if a couple of heat cracks , but I didn't think it was a good idea to replace just the one set, so all calipers had to come off.
1 ended up being siezed again , so good thing really.
the brake lines didn't look the best last year , and this time they snapped when undoing the fitting on two.
So , my question is
Anyone using the flexible brake lines like maybe the transtyle kit ones, or can you recommend another type, as I'm gonna replace the lot??
cheers

just another idiot
Submitted by bitten on Sun, 2012-04-01 09:52i've seen a few posts about people doing stupid things lately thought i would throw in my experience this morning.
i was cruiseing along the 4wd tracks on my quad this morning with my 5 year old just going for a lesurly ride to check out the surfing comp on at the beach when i came accross a few branches on the track, they were only small so i just rode accross them only to drop into a big hole dug in underneath them
some complete idiot has come along on a busy track dug a deep hole and covered it with branches
luckily i was only going slow and the hole wasnt big enough to throw me off the quad but the tracks are busy and plenty of guys on 2 wheel motorbikes go through there at high speeds it could easily have killed someone or done serious injury.
i dont know what sort of brainless person would do this
needless to say i stopped and filled the hole in

Submitted by uncivilduck on Sun, 2012-04-01 08:17Yesterday I was about to load my boat onto trailer when 2 helpful blokes offered to assist. Now I usually do this myself and takes probably about 4 or 5 minutes but yesterday with the help receieved only 1 minute . If it was you that assisted I would like to thank you once again.
Just proves that there still are good people out there at boat ramps.....
oh p.s nothing caught but enjoyed myself :-)

I spotted something suspicious
Submitted by UncutTriggerInWA on Sat, 2012-03-31 11:59I pulled out of the vegie shop and nearly goy whacked by a white prado which looked suspiciously like the Sherbie mobile. Chock a block full of fellas and swags on the top. Headed toward Perth so I can only imagine the old fart has been out and about again. Looking forward to a report. I'm headed up that way in a few minutes. See what damage they have done LOL. I hope there are some fish left.....

Narrows this afternoon
Submitted by buschy on Fri, 2012-03-30 19:08Had a fish for a couple of hours at the narrows and had the pleasure of meeting fellow member Benno208 and his mrs. Not much happening on the fish scene, but a tailor each was enough to keep us keen for a while.
We were both flicking lures the whole time. Oh, and Ben, being the legendary fisherman that he is - managed to catch a little river prawn! Not many blokes here can say they have caught a prawn on lure before....
Just wanted to say Ben, if your reading this - was a pleasure to meet you mate and hope we cross paths again in the future. :)

Customer Service above and Beyond ?!!
Submitted by DhuBoi on Fri, 2012-03-30 18:01Recently as per usual when I need specialised fishing / brands that ordinary fishing tackle stores dont supply I make my way to Oceanside Marine Tackle. I just got to say yet again that these blokes are bloody fantastic and never fail to deliver the goods. This trip to oceanside was to round up a present for my old man's 50th birthday . Seeing Iv finally got him into demersal jigging and we have been doing a fair bit of snapper fishing . My target rod was a Eupro Twin Craft . None the less these rods are bloody beautiful I use one myself and use it constantly , one problem Ocean Side had run out. This is a huge thanks to Ryan Thipthorp who had a spare Eupro Twin Craft at his home which inisisted I could have and he sold me it. This is going beyond customer needs and I gotta say Im jealous of my old man , using a rod from Ryan Thipthorp , no excuses not to catch a big fish now. So a big thanks to all the boys at Oceanside Marine , this is the type of customer service that always keeps me coming back. Bloody Legends.
