Ocean Reef - 4m Dinghy
Submitted by Ninety Mile on Fri, 2013-03-29 21:49Hi All
Im going to launch my tinnie from Ocean Reef on Sunday. Any tips for fishing in close (<1.5km).
I dont get out often and just want to make a day out on the water worth while. If anyone can give me any tips in terms of locations/techniques to assist me with a few whiting, skippy, hearing or better, it would be much appreciated.
Happy Easter
Cheers

Fun police out in force , literally.
Submitted by grayzeee on Fri, 2013-03-29 19:40Loaded the cruiser up and decided last min to head up to wedge for a night.
Absolutely stunned at the amount of Police patrolling around the wedge turn off.
Counted around 8 cars (1 unmarked) and 2 bikes and a bus. Saw them pulling 3 different people over.
Must be a hell of a revenue raiser there.
They'd set up a roadblock into wedge (new road) with a big sign saying camping overnight illegal and fines given.
We initially joined the queue but chucked a U'ey as we were fully loaded to stay overnight and had the mutt.
Well , that was our Easter trip done there and then.
Back home now.
It shits me to tears that they put those police resources into stopping people/family's having a bit of fun beach camping.
It should be a right that is being taken away.
What is happening here?????
Getting like the UK . It's a real shame

Fishing today
Submitted by gilligan on Fri, 2013-03-29 17:01Wondering how everyone went today? I ended up with a shark, that be all... Went as far as the fads did a quick troll but the seas were big, so came back in... None of the spots we hit had much at all, couple of pissy bites...
Least we have some fish for dinner, better than nothing!

Killing billfish
Submitted by pale ale on Fri, 2013-03-29 08:02

Reported this to fisheries, they did some investigating and found there were a number of people on board with current WA recreational fishing licenses.
Would be interesting to see how many fish they have in their freezer!

Fishing Almanac Accuracy
Submitted by Justo82 on Thu, 2013-03-28 13:54G'day everyone.
Another pesky question of mine.
Who here uses a Fishing Almanac? Do you find it accurate? I picked up Tim Smiths Almanac with bite times and tide times the other day. Some interesting stuff in there besides the times to fish etc with different species, size limits, knots and rigs etc.
Hoping it is accurate, as it will possibly help remove the less productive days on the water.
All useful input is appreciated.
Thanks,
Justo

Turbo deisel 4WD servicing
Submitted by Tandawg on Thu, 2013-03-28 08:36Sorry but not really fishing related. I have purchased a 3L turbo deisel Rodeo and its due for my service with it at 110000Km. Being the very first deisel I have owned, I am looking for any opinions on a good/reputable service centre NOR (Joondalup area??). Is there a "general" ball park figure for a service? I have heard DPF being bandied around but don't even know if my vehicle has got one.
Thanks in advance
