Hit direction bank off ocean reef today with Lamby and after a promising start with a Baldy on my first drop of the lucanus things went pretty quiet. Moved around to a few spots with nothing much going. Hit a spot that had previously produced some small snapper on way in and Lamby pulled an 80+cm Salmon on a Lucanus jig whilst retrieving from a drop. Salmon smashed it half way back up in 40 odd meters of water. Gave one hell of a fight and a few nice ariel moves to boot. Saw a heap of Tuna about today as well. 2 hook ups. Pulled a just undersize Dhuie on back of 3 mile on way back in. must have been a rogue salmon forward scouting for his mates that are still down in the douth west. Was definately a surprise catch.

Just need a bit a of help. I have a Raymarine rc435 gps unit. I have just updated my software but this removes my waypoints. Not a problem, i archived them onto a flash card. Here lies the problem though. I cannot transfer them back onto unit. Have tried everything. Anyone have one of these units that can help me? I do not want to hand enter all waypoints before someone says!!!

Fishing 2 weeks ago at the wrecks off Rott and caught a couple of nice fish until a 12 ft Tiger and his posse showed up.  Was thinking about heading out to the containers and was wondering if anyone has any luck out that way or if the sharks are still out in numbers?  Lots of baitballs and was wondering if that's what got the sharks out.  Cheers, Ben

My Salt water aquarium has overly high Ammonia levels even after I have changed the water, I have done two 1/3 water changes in the last two days but my fish are continuing to die off due to high ammonia.   Can anyone help me

brp (etec) would have to be the best after sales/warranty i have ever heard off, anybody else delt with them.

we had bought a demo engine with 20hrs and have since found it has done alot more than we were told,

 brp are replacing the whole dressed power head with no question ask and we will end up getting an engine reading 0 hrs(brand new), better than what we had bought to start of with, and not costing us a cent.

also the engine was bought from a dealer over in QLD and brp has taken it upon themselfs to sort us out instead of arguing with the dealer......unheard of.

Not another salmon thread, but something slightly different. I have never chased them before and will be in Pemberton next weekend to try and hunt a couple down. I've heard they are average eating at best so am keen to get some more opinions and find out the best way to prepare and cook them?

I'm thinking salmon steaks on the BBQ, on the beach, with butter and garlic after a long days fishing might be the way to go?
