Richter Skirted Lure DEAL, Buy 2 and get one FREE
Submitted by Oceanside Tackle on Wed, 2015-08-12 15:14Richter skirted lures are by far the best value on the market and they catch fish. Richter skirted lures have landed many different species all over the world with many game competitions being won with Richter skirted lures.
We have a large selection of Richter skirted lures and one of the biggest changes is the inception of UV colours. These UV colours really do standout in the water in all light conditions. Billfish use the UV to hunt prey and whilst you need to have a good spread of colours UV in that spread are a MUST!!
Richter skirted lures catch many species including marlin/sailfish/tuna/dolphin fish and much more.
We are doing a limited special on the UV Richter skirts including some custom colours exclusive to Oceanside Tackle and Marine. All lures are pre-rigged by Mark Richter himself with quality components.

Exmouth marina
Submitted by fab on Wed, 2015-08-12 07:48Hi all. My mate and I are heading up to Exmouth soon, and I have a feeling that the wind is going to be a pain in the butt. We have a 4.2 tinnie, and usually fish the inner reef at tantabiddi. I was wondering, as a plan B, if the wind is too bad, trying to fish around the marina. Is that worth a try, or would we be wasting our time?
Any feedback would be awesome.
cheers Fab

Rods
Submitted by Jandrews on Tue, 2015-08-11 21:31Hey
Was wondering what rod to buy. Was either thinking a saltist hyper or pay the extra for a demon blood. Will be using it with small sinkers or jigs. Just wanted to know if either of them are suited for my needs and are good rods.
Cheers in advance.

Sharks bay in October
Submitted by Clint Buz on Tue, 2015-08-11 16:04Hi all just wondering if anyone can give me a bit of feed back on there experiences. I am thinking about a trip to Sharks bay around the start of October for a bit of land based but mostly boat fishing, I am going for 1 week. Has anyone been up there about this time of year and is it a good time of year or is it going to be too hit and miss for only a 1 week stay. I have been in April before and been told that is about the best time of year but april is too far away and I need a trip. I am from Bunbury so any other ideas within about that same distance are also welcome
Cheers in advance

Lucky Bay Kalbarri
Submitted by lachieH on Tue, 2015-08-11 09:56Hi everyone, im going to lucky bay with a mate camping on the beach mid september. I'm just wondering will the big tailor be around at this time? Also whats our best bet of catching one? We have kayaks but are more than happy to fish off the beach. We also have lures and bait so we can fish any way that we want.
Also is there any other species to look out for?
Thanks,
Lachie

Coraline 750 Outsider
Submitted by HOOPS on Tue, 2015-08-11 07:48Hi all,
i know this is probably not the right spot but this thread gets a lot more exposure.
I'm currently looking at buying a coraline 750 outsider and would like any info on them that anyone can give. Being such a large boat and aluminium will this counteract the rough ride normally experienced and with large reverse chines I'm guessing it will be a rather stable boat.

Quick one?
Submitted by Cold Feet on Mon, 2015-08-10 14:50Hi guys,
Just busy refurbing a secondhand runabout boat I bought recently, and have recieved the sticker for the rego - crap brown colour, but anyways - where must this sticker be placed on the boat nowadays - tried a internet search and one on here, but no definite position is indicated?
Seems DOT says registration should be "adjacent" to numbers on the left of the boat? My numbers are in the centre of the boat, and putting the sticker there seems silly, as it would probably get washed off by the wake?
Any clarity on this, and how strict are they regarding this nowadays?
Cheers,

Fishfinder decision
Submitted by plugga25 on Sat, 2015-08-08 16:25Hi all. Im looking at upgrading my fishfinder.
I have been using Humminbird for years since i put a Humminbird 100sx in my 4m DeHaviland back in 1997.
Currently have a Humminbird Piranha Max 160 in my boat. Having never used a colour sounder except for my commercial fishing days, any help would be great. I am looking at possibly getting a Garmin 350c. I am limited to size as the dash area of my boat is not very big.
Any help would be muchly appreciated.

I currently just through everything in a big tub but there has to be better ideas. Im thinking of a bag + a big tackle box.

Trailcraft - Marine hatch
Submitted by Dougo on Sat, 2015-08-08 12:39Hi all,
I have a trailcraft 625 Trailblazer and am toying with the idea of fitting a hatch to the forward deck to allow access to the anchor well as currently wandering up the side of the boat has its issues, especially if the sea is a little rough.
Is there anyone out there who has retro fitted a hatch to a trailblazer that can offer some practical advice on this as i am sure there are many of you who have gone down this road already.
Cheers

Ended up with a couple of pinkies. 1 x 3kg and 1 about 4kg. A size Dhuie, let a heap of undersize ones go. An 8kg sambo and a few other bits and peices. Pulled the hooks on a couple of screamers(friggin spewing). A good couple of hours fishing in my books. Specially for Bunno(haha).
No pics this time. Fishing solo

Trophy boats / American boats
Submitted by black gen on Sat, 2015-08-08 09:23I have a question regarding trophy boats/USA boats as a mate and I are looking into them
www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/1085568778
this one we have talked about, however never being aboard one and also not having a mate or known anyone who owns one there are a few unanswered questions
is the reason these yank boats have large fuel tanks because the use a heap of fuel or is it for range?
I've heard of some yank boats sitting ass heavy in the water creating really comfortable rides but they must be displacing a lot of water. Do trophy boats plane nicely or do they ride low in the back?
is there anything else generally that is strikingly different and should be noted from an Australian built aluminum jackman style hull to these larger USA type fiberglass boats as that's what we have had previously
any help will be greatly appreciated
cheers

Couple of dhus straight up and then this nice tuna, was a bit of a suprise to pull it from 30m. Hes now found himself in the freeza for the next time i fish bait. That might be a way off yet though, jigs are going well lately.

Line for balooning reel
Submitted by Fireguard on Fri, 2015-08-07 20:03I've got myself a Tyrnos 50LRS single speed to use as my ballooning reel for Steep and Quobba, matched to an Ozflex 24Kg LBG rod.
Now I'm looking at what line to put on the reel, I did originally have an idea, but after talking to a couple more people a different plan was suggested
I wont say yet what my idea was, and what was suggested so as not to skew opinions so...
What would everyone suggest I load the reel with ?? Braid Vs Mono or combo - Breaking strain - suggested brand of line etc
Cheers
Rob.
(and yes I had planned on using a decent leader aswell :)

Fishing Locations North early December
Submitted by jeddddy on Fri, 2015-08-07 16:45Hey Guys;
A few mates and I are graduating school this year and were considering a fishing trip up north,
We were thinking of heading around early december after leavers,
Any spots you guys would recommend?
We were thinking steep point but from a bit of research through some previous forums it looks as though as it will be two windy.
Thinking of travelling no further north than about Carnarvon
Any advice would be helpful.

Fishing destinations for September?
Submitted by tomtom on Fri, 2015-08-07 08:31Hey guys, so I have a week off from the 17th-28th of September and want to spend the whole week fishing somewhere. Happy to drive 14 hours either North or South. Looking for some reccomendations on area's that may be good around that time of year? Went to Quobba a couple months back and am going again at christmas so not there. Someone on here told me anywhere North will be super windy by that time of year so maybe North isnt the best bet?
So far considering s-bends, or down South to conto's or somewhere else down South (never fished s-bends or conto's)
Not looking for your secret spots just some general reccomendations of areas to sgart considering would be great :)
