BUNBURY WEEKEND COMP

well done BIG Q nice 18kg dhu on the jig

and mine a little 15kg

A quick plash and dash yesterday.

Took the boy out for a quick spear yesterday....a good day out.

Cheynes beach

just been down to Cheynes for a couple of nights first time Iv had the boat down there. Spent a few hours out yesterday for a good feed of fish and surprisingly some big cuttle fish off of squid bait. mates sambo was around the 15-20kg and the only one landed had about 5 or 6 bust offs on 80lb set ups so there was a few bigger ones around

SBT's

 G'day

Went out yesterday to see if we could get another Metro Mackie, it wasn't to be. Lots of stringy annoying weed in close.

We ended up with these SBT's, not big fish but enough to turn a reel. Looking forward to the next few months targetting some YFT.

Couple from today

We'll today a first dhu fish and Jew fish in the same day mulloway on jig first about 14kegs

pansize, sorry, i meant mansize landbased pinky...

Dusted off some fishing gear the other night  , and headed off to catch up with a long term friend, talk bullshit, out 'crude' each other, and do a bit of line wetting as well. By sun-up, i'd seemingly lost the bet. She had out cruded me, and (sigh) outfished me, and i complied with the pre arranged bet, to refer to her only as 'Queen'...

What she didn't know was i'd used the out going current to position my whole herring to be sitting in nice & close to a pylon supporting the bridge, thinking that when the tide slowed/stopped, i'd have a fair to middling chance of hooking something reasonable enough to overthrow the queen, and claim the crown for myself.

Do you guys think what i landed trumped my friend? Landbased, no gaff or net, all smiles... 8kg's for those interested :-D

Metro Mackie First

First post as we rarely get a chance to get out and dont have great success.

Tried trolling for the first time, Hillarys up to Jindalee way and back again with no luck so ready to pack it in and then when close to Hillarys, mate got this one so high fives all round! Awesome to get reward for the time. Went 120cm.

Midday too.

OceanSide Tackle and Pflueger

Thanks OceanSide Tackle and Pflueger. I won an awesome Pflueger tackle bag and Pflueger Salt Spin 80 reel in the Sunday anniversary raffle. Thanks for all the help and advice over the past couple of trips to the shop to help me catch some fish as well. Miles away from my house but worth the drive

OceanSide Tackle

Just got a call from shop to say that I'd won the Sunday (anniversary weekend) raffle. Apparently it is all of Ryan's GPS co-ordinates.

Great. Just email them to me Ryan.

Jigged this monster up the other day on a PE3 NS Blackhole Explorer rod, matched up to a 5000 Shimano Sustain reel, spooled up with PE3 Toray Super Strong PE Connected and 40lb Toray Jigging FC leader, the jig that done the damage was a 125g Lamble Bait Haoli king jig.

Epic day!

Dogtooth

Fish ID

See how long it takes to ID this one caught recently.

I reckon it will be pretty quick actually.

Blue Groper on soft plastic

A glorious day in Augusta using soft plastics when I got a zinger of a run. After a decent fight I pulled this one up by the ass!

The setup was a Shimano raider with 20lb line and 25lb leader.

It was my first blue groper by the way!

Tonight's mull session

After little andys go last night . ( wound me up )Thought I would have a crack. With 5 boats in area decided to leave . Had my dan and  his worker on board Chris.( useless fisherman) :):). I went decky for night . Chris  has never landed mully before . He landed 2 crackers.so did dan. As good dad would do ,called little Andy up . He was on promise already in.( gay fish first . Women 2 nd).  Great night . Some big mullys caught .gave 1 away at ramp.  18.6 kg biggest . All ranged between 14 to 18.6 . Left them on chew big time . They where even smashing soft Plastics.back in your court Andy :):);)Lol

Fish, fish and more fish.

A few photos of my fishing adventures in the past few weeks out of a camera load. Caught many big dhufish including a new pb at 16kg although my my favourite times were spent chasing sharks down in Hamelin with a mate of mine. Running up and down the beach sight casting bronze whalers in the rain was awesome. Watching them take your bait then jump fully out the water and rip drag off is very cool. After landing and losing many I saw a monster dark shadow cruise behind my balloon. Soon my whole salmon had been taken by a rather large fish. It ran for 300m in seconds before we became slightly concerned about stopping it and yep, it happend! Got spooled of my 600m of line on a full lock Saragosa 25k. Maybe next time I'll take a my Trynos 50. Max

First blue marron

Got my first blue marron snaring last night.. Quite big around 115mm.

How common are they?

Inshore yellow tail kings

Out from hillaries this morning for an anchor and burley, got a few decent black ass early on and a few snook and skippy. Then my mate hooked a good 6ft plus shark, seen it swim past the boat and eat the floating mulie bait and then took off, no chance of stopping it. Few more bits and pieces and then had a few nice yellow tail kings come out and play, good fun on 20lb and 10m's of water.

Tuna Virgin No More

Hi guys,

Me and a good friend took my boat out wide last weekend chasing tuna for the first time (here in south Australia).. ended up catching 4 tuna all up, they were all around the estimated 15-20kg size. Lost one that would have gone 30kg easy, after long fight :( oh well that's fishing I guess..

Anyway, super happy with my first attempt, and got such great satisfaction from doing it in my own tub! I can now say, im hooked on tuna! Ha.

solid Spanish mack

quick spearfish yesterday, ended up needing some help with a second spear to get this one under control.

crab net surprise

He swam off freely, thought I hit the jackpot!

4. Crab feast.... Got 40 crabs in 2 boats in an hour
5. Some random ground we found on the way out to our spots.... Ended up staying there and bagged out in an hour and a half
6. Nice feed caught during our 2 day trip to Jurien bay... this was day 2 catch
7. This is day 1 catch up in Jurien... Left Perth at 4am and was bagged out by 9am!!
8 & 9. This is some sort weird shell thing that came up in one of our cray pots.... If anyone could tell me what it is it would be greatly appreciated.. It went back in the water but would like to know what it was.
