17kg Cobia in the shallows off Exmouth
Submitted by OldMateAdventures on Wed, 2020-11-04 19:05Lastest trip up to Exmouth a couple of weeks back.
Got pounded by wind but managed a few decent fish just trawling around the place.
We got lucky on the wind in on the last 5min of fishing coming in through the channel markers at Tandabidi boat ramp on the last day.
Cheers as always for watching Champs :o)

The best Perth offshore weather I've ever seen, heaps of fish with the missus.
Submitted by K_willo on Sun, 2020-07-12 17:54A few people were talking about this in another thread..
Here is the best weather I've seen in Perth probably ever.
Fish were going off with my girlfriend catching the biggest Mahi from the boat all season.
This is one of those days that we will tell stories about for years and years.

Something different, FADs Mahi, Underwater Footage, Rod Review, Dead Weight Test
Submitted by K_willo on Mon, 2020-07-06 15:24It's been a bit quiet around here..
I was recently given an opportunity to put an ASWB PE3 rod through its paces and compare it to my beloved 10 year old Smith Offshore Stick.
What better way than throwing stickbaits at some late season Perth Mahi Mahi.
I had early reservations regarding the rod, I saw that taper as being too fast and a little stiff for my liking but couldn't say no to giving it a full test run.
I was surprised with the results...

12kg Pink Snapper in close off Bunbury
Submitted by OldMateAdventures on Thu, 2020-05-28 18:36I seem to be a charter boat these days, it's been awhile since myself has landed a decent Snapper over 10kg but I have succesfully put 3 mates onto 10kg plus fish in the last 3 weeks. Though i find that more enjoyable than catching the fish myself, it's epic that mates break PB's on my boat (little do they know i have no idea what i'm doing most of the time) and we'll hopefully break a few more before i sell the boat at the end of the year and i'll have to settle for my 9ft roof topper while we travel Oz. Thanks again for watching and hopefully ya'll getting amongst it. Cheers.

Beach Camping and Fishing near Windy Harbour
Submitted by OldMateAdventures on Mon, 2020-03-16 17:14
Couple of weekends ago we seen a break in the weather and headed south down through Northcliff and went down the summertime track for a couple of nights camping and fishing.
The Misso is going through chemo and she was just aching for some beach time, fresh air and a few beers. Probably the best weather we've had down here in a long time!
Anyway this is a little vid of the weekends fishing, thanks again for watching all.
This time next year we'll be close to packing up and heading off on the road full time! If anyone is in the market for a 485 2006 Trailcraft, 2016 90hp Suzuki combo boat after July let me know as it will be going up for sale after our Exmouth Trip this year... :o(
Thanks again.

Solo FADs trip, Perth
Submitted by K_willo on Tue, 2020-02-25 14:32Fair amount of time between post's here.
Been getting out and making a few movies but none for me. Purchased my dream boat in that time and that has put the FADs in my range right on summer. After a few half hearted unsuccessful trips taking non fisherman mates out I got serious. Watch a bit of the trip prep and a few important things when fishing by yourself 50km offshore.
Click on the link to go through to youtube and watch there for highest quality, probably best to grab a beer as its a long one.
Cheers,

Binningup Crayfishing in Feb
Submitted by OldMateAdventures on Tue, 2020-02-25 07:37
I haven't been out much over the school holidays but we had a small window where the swell and tides dropped down and we had a constant easterly for a few days. Which ment some ground in close would be clear enough to dive on only a few hundred metres off shore.
My old mans mate hadn't been diving in 15years and he was keen to have a trial run so a shallow dive was a great place to practise and take it all back in. Wayneo was straight back into it grabbing crays and being our catch bag man. A few Southern Fighters around also which is good to see, we threw them back after we realised we had a big feed of reds.
I'm not a full bottle on Crayfish migration but my guess is these crays have come back in and would be here all winter??
Thanks again for the support and watching. Cheers

Catching Crays by hand off Bunbury W.A.
Submitted by OldMateAdventures on Fri, 2019-12-06 16:38Last few dives off Bunbury has seen the whites run move off pretty quick. Went out this morning for a dive on a ledge that had 30-40 crays in it last week (too deep for anyone to snare) and it was bare today when i swam past.
Good to see big numbers of little kackers around though.

1st Reconnaissance Cray dive for the season a couple of weeks back.
Submitted by OldMateAdventures on Sun, 2019-10-27 17:10A couple of weeks back the water had finally turned eastly for a few days so we headed out to see if any crays were in the shallows. We dove around 8-10m of water and didn't see a thing for the first 30min until we came arcoss some small patches of crays. Lots of little ones about which is a good sign but we managed to get 9 which is not a bad little first feed.
Once again thanks for watching everyone and have a great summer diving season!

King Threadfin - Mary River NT
Submitted by Squidjag on Sat, 2019-10-12 12:55Hi All,
This is a video of a trip to the mouth of the Mary River - Northern Territory. We launched at Shady Camp, just after dawn and motored down stream. We were targeting Barramundi but this day the Threadfin were out and about. The fish we caught were of a similar size and in the high teens, weight wise.
Enjoy! :-)

Gnaraloo fishing, Part 2, Trolling the reefs.
Submitted by OldMateAdventures on Mon, 2019-09-02 18:49
Between the windy conditions we managed a couple of sessions trolling the along the back of the reefs north of the boat ramp. Nothing massive but still managed to put a few fillets in the engel for the old man.
Whales and Turtles were everywhere and just is a magical part of the west.
Cheers for watching Legends.
