Very sad indeed

I'm from kiwi origin myself so am feeling for my countrymen.  Among them was a 17 year old kid.  It was his first day.  It is just wrong that something like that could happen on your first day.  Condolences to all.

Chile

Unfortunately the successful rescue in Chile probably over inflated a lot of expectations. Historically deep underground cave-ins, let alone explosions don't end well.

It's going to take a fair bit to recover the victims, I believe their was a third explosion today at Pike River.

RIP

yeah was never going to end

yeah was never going to end happy with a methane coal mine explosion. Worst part was everyone really believed that it was as simple as hiding in a hut like the Chile mine, but with coal mines it goes wrong a hell of lot worse and seldom has many survivors.
rest in peace fellow miners.
