Depends.....if you're using
Depends.....if you're using it on a heavy rod, ie 80lb rod = 80lb braid. If its a bit of an all rounder and not fishing really heavy all the time. Get yourself a bulk spool (500m or more) and about 50-60lb breaking strain (PE5-6) which is more than enough for most type of fishing.

If it was me.......
600m of Varivas Big One PE5 (78lb breaking strain) can be had on the US fleabay delivered for a touch over US$200. With the current exchange rate it will come in under A$250, which IMO is mighty competitive.

Just shouted myself a 20000 couple of weeks ago and did exactly what HuggyB said above. $240 landed and the best part was 600m of Varivas Big One PE5 fits absolutely spot on down to the last metre!

Depends on what you are after.
If you are not after a depth marked braid I'd probably get some Jerry Brown. (Cost effective, well respected brand)
If you're after marked braid and capacity is an issue then PE Big One or equivalent is the go (strong for it's PE diameter).
If you're after a cost effective marked braid I'd consider Saltiga Boat Braid. For the cost of 600m PE Big One, you'll get 1800m Boat Braid, so it's a 1/3rd of the cost. Keep in mind i reckon it is thicker than it's PE rating suggests.
If you want a bit more capacity than the stock 20k spool will hold, but you don't necessarily need 600m, then another option is getting a yumeya 20k maxspool and spooling it up with Boat braid. In the LONG run this maybe potentially more cost effective than respooling with PE Big One over and over. Beware though, a Yumeya MaxSpool costs an arm and a leg (and possibly a testicle!), so it may take some time to recoup your initial outlay.

Whippy!
Varivas is overpriced even from O/S, rather get a shit load of Berkley Whiplash 80lb on the spool. Will handle all those situations with ease, save some coin too!
