Another week closer to the finals and it's hotting up
OK so another week goes by and we resurect the footie chatter. Why not? It's panning out to be a scrap for both top four and the eight. I haven't seen a race like this for a while and I am enjoying it. One thing I do hate though is that there are so many weak teams that drop off and offer easy pickings. Final placings this year depend on the draw and who has the fortitude to defy the critics and the odds.
Being WA I am keen to see the Eagles come back strong and it will be interesting to see how the Dockers come home. Bring on next week I say. If the Dockers choke that could be it. If they do well then the Eagles are in for a tough run in the finals (not that it won't be tough even if they win).
The Hawks are on a role but that can be stopped at any stage.

It's a tough call when you are confornted with a man mountain coming at you. All Glass did was turn to absorb the contact. Unfortunately he was off the ground so that doesn't work well for him. Maybe a week? If that's the case I can see coverage but any more than that and it could be a very sad situation.

I thought that about Brad Shepard and Scott Selwood a year or so ago, their disposal by foot was terrible, but both have come good, Selwood is arguably one of the most improved players in the comp imo

Like vince said too many weak teams in the comp to offer easy pickings. We'll getting a few back from injury in the next few weeks so the depth of the team will grow. Should beat the Dorkers but won't be easy as they've (wince) hit a little bit of form. The Hawks look good at the moment but can they maintain that inetnsity pretty hard methinks. At least the Eagles finally finished the job yesterday till the end so percentages are pretty tight and we can grab a top four spot. Finals footy is going to be bloody awesome.

Favourite for the flag IMO at the start was Carlton. Where are they now. Sydney and Adelaide for Minor premiers, wouldnt have bet on that. Tight race for everyone and cant afford to put one foot wrong. This weekend 2 weeks ago was almost a certain Eagles win, not so confident with Freo lifting, and their finals hope rest on winning everything.

Reprimand at worst with early plea, feet only left the ground because he was running flat out, was looking away from the contest trying to find the footy. Turned to see brown at last minute and tried to soften the collision up as best he could. Can't punish a bloke for goin the footy. He was reported early this year but got off so he does the 5 year record. Just because brown has got a metal head doesn't mean he should be looked after more. As they say you cross that white line your 100%
They are all saying Thomson will get off but he made Johnson take no further part, bleed and concussed so if that's the case then Glassy should have no case to answer!

Everytime I go to an eagles game there's several times in a match that the 'know fuck all about the game' supporters boo at straight forward umpiring decisions against them, worse than Dockers fans. They prob booed coz Glass got reported, coz Glass 'did nothing wrong'. They'll prob boo the unpires off the ground when they loose to the dorkers this week even tho they had twice as many free kicks lol

But I still believe Thompson was very lucky due to the damage to Steve js face. accidental or not hasnt really mattered much to the MRP this year, his arm was raised made contact with head. resulted in johnson playing no further part in the game. but then again the consistency from the MRP has been S%^t to say the least.
And to your accusation of booing Browny, its not true. they were booing the umpires decision to pay a 50m.
If anyone was Booing browny Id have to agree it to be disgraceful. he is a legend of todays game.

The MRP reckon joel correy pushed thompson into johnson ?? I watched the incident about a dozen times last night,correys hands did go into thompsons back but in no way did he cause thompson colliding with johnson,therefore even though it was an accident thompson should have got some time if you follow the letter of the law IMO.
