Sounds fun , as long as not too many bycatch like Sambos, mackies  etc are about and  stuffing up your flash lures, Sometimes after a big fish, deep diving lures dont want to swim properly again to matter how hard to try to tune them

octo jig, sinker with 2 single 6.0s and bit of tinsel with half a mulie and the clackawrap lure near the bottom, they were all pulling pinkies, Ive never known a big plastic bib on the rapalas to go out of wack

Hi Uncle,

Check this out. Rapala Xrap magnum with a broken bib after a mack attack.

Lee was fishing out of Port Philip Bay ....very shallow water with bugger all current. They use pea size ball sinker to get their bait to the bottom so it is possible to cast a Clackingrap and retrieve back slowly to entice a strike. For Perth waters, I am not sure if the Clacking Rap will drift away. Still possible to use vibe I reckon just have to be alot heavier.

Yeah, trolling can definitely be done for pinkies. I've caught snappers trolling in the estuaries in Brissy. Just make sure your lure dive close to the bottom and scrapping it occassionally.

Where do you find your bombs

Where do you find your bombs for the downrigger uncle?  I have thought about trolling soft plastics on unweighted jig heads on a downrigger around shark bay to find fish.  I have the downrigger but struggle to find the bombs here!

I've caught a heap of small

I've caught a heap of small 30-40cm pinks trolling 50mm deep divers off the kayak in Augusta. Also get some decent bycatch like BA and similar. The slow speed of the kayak just seems to work well for them. From memory the water was 5 - 8m deep and the lure was only diving to about 4m

gotta go real slow when trolling deep diver, 2 -3 knots from memory and constantly pulling your rod now and then to inpart more action.
