Im guessing you work at Austal?

I fish there quiet alot chriss, its kind of a hit and miss spot really but it definately has its days.

IMO i think your better off using bait but then again just depends what your targetting, had a few big runs there but never managed to pull it in.

i always find the better nights are when its a little bit rough but not extremly never when its dead flat, others may have different opinions

Cheers,

Jamie

as from the 31st Jan...when the ban's lifted landbased snapper hunters all over it...never really thrown lures there...used to catch a few skippy out from the point near the marker...good spot for winter tailor as well...lots of live bait, sand whiting throwing towards ship jetty..give it a go ,you never know

Hi Chriss,

I'm next door at ASC mate, I fish the rock walls often before work, lunch time, after work and any other time the boss ain't watching, lol. I also spear along them at times mate so would be happy to give you some pointers n the underwater terrain.

I fish at asi nearly every

Tue, 2012-01-17 20:17

I fish at asi nearly every weekend, personally i wouldnt throw lures because it isnt really a spot for tailor, ect, baits defently work the best, i have caught a lot of rays on the inside and had a few bust off's on suspected sharks. Is a good spot for whiting near the entrence, i went diving there last week and it was tarwine gallore, there is also a lot of snapper there but nearly all are under size, fishing the ocean side of the rockwall is best because because there are far less blowies and also less of that slimy weed, ther are somtimes some good skippy that give you a good fightt but sometimes when fishing is good the pesky trumpeter can ruin everything, is on and off though, and atm i dont think i is going to well but will deffenatly pick up,
Hope that helpss, ahah,
Good luck

Is it still accessable by car

Is it still accessable by car or have they blocked vehicular access.

Dive along the rock face hey - recent reports of tiger sharks caught in that area obviously does not deter you?  good on you.
