Hi Guys i have an older Baron Sportsman and are doing a resto on it .
Just after some info i want lay more fibreglass up front in the V and bunk area of the hull , to add extra weight and strength to this area is there any problems with doing this . ?
There are no cracks or stress marks at all in this area , i just know with some of the older Haines Boats they put extra glass into the front V area.
Have a great day and stay safe on the water .

Not too many problems with adding glass to a boat. Barons are a great rig. Good luck with the refurb.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Wouldn't Bother
I wouldn't bother adding extra glass up in the bow area, if something was going to happen in that area it would have happened before now and if so there would be signs of it.

Agree with Carnarvonite no
Agree with Carnarvonite no real point it'l be strong enough - Barons were built pretty strong and the V in any boat would be the strongest part. If you want extra weight throw in a battery jump starter up front - more likely to come in use

The older barons in particulare were built like tanks, great hull, why mess with an excellent design. Apparently the later models were made lighter....

Awesome boats
Did a refit about a year ago on mine, us it alot on the south coast and handles the rough stuff well seems to have plenty of weight already. Seems like a lot of unnecessary work adding more glass
