Sad to hear it, but as a commerical diver he knew the risks and took the chances.

Wonder if a Sharkpod would have saved him?

not good news at all. but unfortunatly it can and does happen. every time you enter the water you take the risk of a shark attack, luckily very few do get attacked. it is their domain and their only doing what comes naturally. condolences to the family

Very sad. All the usual arguments and facts are coming up again but everyone who goes in the water knows the risks, especially commercial divers. Just sad for the family that nothing has been recovered.

They are usually solo hunters. Who said it was GWs. Did someone witness it?

Obviously very sad. He also was a great underwater photographer from what I have heard. Had a interesting talk on ABC Radio about this yesterday that I overheard.

were this unfortunate abalonie diver got taken, was a no go area for a lot of divers due to to many GW's in the area, we will never know, would have hated to be the skipper of the boat, that witnessed the two GW's attacking his abalonie diver, shocking to witness something like that, it would stick in your mind for ever, RIP and condolences to the family.
