Im competing

Fri, 2011-02-18 09:33

Yeah ill be there, but agree, the weather is looking pretty bloody awful.

By the look of it its going to get worse every hour from the start till the end of the comp.

What I target will depend largely on the weather, though if the weather gets too bad, ill be targetting a few pints at the Breakwater

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

With the southerly forecast,

Fri, 2011-02-18 13:44

With the southerly forecast, im not looking forward to battling down south of a Hillarys launch.

Only gets stronger through the day too. The prizes like 'biggest dhuie' etc for tomorrow will definitely be taken out by the lads with the biggest boats (or the biggest balls).

boat size

Fri, 2011-02-18 15:01

Coley , i dont know if your going in the comp or not but there is a minimum size of boat allowed in the comp , i think the size is 4.8mts , if your are in the comp stay in close and hit the sand whitng or KGs you just never know what is going to take out the $ 1,500 prize money for each section.   also if its to rough on the day they will cancel it until the Sunday , on sea breeze theres two yellow arrows getting blown across the page before going back to red arrows

Boat Size ??

Fri, 2011-02-18 15:32

I have registered , I have not seen any info on boat size ?

My tinnie is 4.2m and I used this last year also.

If its under the competeion size , they still took my money the boat size is cleasrly stated on the entry form.

Yes I will be only interested in the herring, gardie stuff.

Does Sunday appear to be a better day ?

thanks

Postponed?

Fri, 2011-02-18 16:16

How will we know it is postpone. I am manning the Whitfords Sea Rescue radio tower in the morning from 4.30am. Would be good to know if they make a decision tonight or wait until morning.

For those going out do not forget to log on. If leaving ocean reef you can do it before you leave. If Hillarys best to wait until ouside marine, you can try near the fule jetty but may not hear you.

Hoping not everyone tries to log on at 6am when comp starts only have so many hands to operate radios and log calls

Safe boating and have a great day.

 The weather is not conducive

Fri, 2011-02-18 17:50

The weather is not conducive to where I need to fish so as a result it's a non event for me. Good luck to those who participate and hope you fare well.

What time is the weigh-in??   Be good to go down for a beer and catch the results.

Beautifull fish was caught

Sat, 2011-02-19 19:28

Beautifull fish was caught and some serious whoppers at the weigh inn.

Looks like a proffesional  well run event.

All I have to do is to learn how to catch fish, get a crew and enter next time!

Enjoyed the event standing from the sidelines!
