Boat Covers - Travelling & Storage

Hey Guys,

After a decent cover for my tinny. Want to be able to tow with it on for long distance trips (multiple points to tie from the cover to the trailer) and when its stored at home.

Potentially block out a majority of the UV rays and stop water/leaves etc entering the hull.

Live NOR so anywhere within reason would be good..

Thanks,

Sam

Just covers made the cover for my boat..spend the money and get a good one made heavy duty canvas.....Shaped to your boat, and covering all the paintwork for travelling. I brought a 350 dollar one from bias..and after a year its good for a dropsheet when painting. Once they get loose and fill with water in one spot, they stretch and are never any good again. Good luck

do a search of the forums as this was recently discussed. Bigfatsnapper was also mentioned so could be worth a shot.

Any motor trimmers will be able to make up a custom cover, for a price.

I went with a white PVC cover for our boat. Cost a bit more (about 900), weighs a bit and is some hassle to get off and on (but am getting used to it) and it looks like a big white condom over the boat, but keeps everything dry and secure - especially when on the road and fully loaded with all our camping and fishing gear...  its glued and welded and double thick on the corners and over any lumps or bumps so it should last a while.

like wade said - it is best to go down the sides a bit more to protect the paintwork / glass. if mine wasnt so expensive i would definately have also done that... maybe next time.

Bought a boat cover from a boating shop $350 and 20mths later it is all but useless. The sun has perrished the material and it is ripping. Is suposed to be UV stablised. Spend the money on a custom made one, or buy a heavy duty PVC backed tarp plus webbed straps to tie it down. Found out that a mate bought the same cover for his 4.2m to travel nth, by the time he got to Broome he had to take it off as it had rips every where. He got his money back. Contact me if you want to know which brand it is. Col
