Are you using bait or
Are you using bait or jig/soft plastic. If your not using artificials are you going to want to in the future as this will factor into what you will need an also what depths will you be fishing? I didn't know when I started buying gear that 2 years later I would stop fishing with bait and only use jigs so I have had to buy a lot of things twice. Better to spend the cash once

My first boat combo was a
My first boat combo was a fin-nor offshore 30h overhead with 50lb braid and a penn mariner boat rod 15-24kg. Caught me a lot of good fish and a lot of firsts. Did the job until I took up jigging. Have since put a mono top shot on it and use it for trolling instead of bottom bashing.
Cant go wrong with a shimano talica or Trinidad matched with a tcurve200 if overheads is your pick
