Bronzies

anyone out there can give me a clue to where we can catch a few bronzies, while the demersal ban is still on, and how can you catch them without fisheries thinking your after snapper or dhuies, mandurah based thanks in advance....

What timboon said. To reduce the amount of rays try using big baits and get them off the bottm with a balloon or something similar if you can

I have seen a few over the last couple of weeks just past the three mile, directly west from Hillarys. Must be the cray bait? Seem to show up whenever I’m pulling the pots.

Live baits...anything

Live baits...anything really...live herring, tailor, skippy, 500mm of wire to single hook thru it’s back...20ft under a balloon in 30-40ft of water.

burley trail with heaps of oil. Don’t be afraid to let balloon be 30-40m from boat.

After dark. Sit on the anchor don’t up and move once you get burley going.

sound be simple don’t over complicate it

have a small rig going to keep supply of live bait but they last for ages normally
