Showing the pics of Carnarvon's new 10 metre Naiad being built.
Though not in the same league as the other members 8.5 home build it is still an impressive unit.

why not just chose ali pontoons (like Stabicraft for example) instead of rubber?
not a criticism, just curious.

Rafting up
The rubber tubes give you the ability to raft up along side another vessel with out having to put fenders out, a big plus when you are in a big sea. Saves on the amount of non essential stuff we have to carry. The give in them while you are travelling cushions the ride and cuts the spray down to nearly zero.

nice rig
nice rig for the Carnarvon rescue guys, what size are the engines 2 x 200? and how much free board is there at the rear section, should be perfect for the rough conditions

Motors
Twin Yammie 300 V8s Fuel consumption is around 60-65 litres an hour combined at 25-26 knots, huge difference from Shark Bays 10 metre Air riders twin 300 Suzies with 95-100litres at same speed.
The rear section has about 700mm freeboard, would be a very rare event to get big water on board, free draining deck with big discharge points in the case of one coming in. Low sides make it easy to pull someone out of the water straight over the side.

The airriders must be a fairly inefficient hull or they propped different . My 300 suzi gets 30 litres an hour at 24 knots on a 24 foot glass c/c , bit suprised at those fuel figures for the twins . I went on a 13 metre naiad in Tassie down an Port Arthur with triple 300 Verados and that did 68 knots with 30 punters and 2 crew on board, awsum riding boat in some absolute shithouse conditions( 45knot squalls ) on the day.

Definitely
They are definitely V8s, need the extra weight to get the right balance through the boat with the extra fuel tank capacity needed for up here.

Magic
Absolutely magic to drive, no broaching, no driving your knees up your bum when you jump over a big wave.
Found out today that it has had a little mod done to slow it down, had been up to 58 knots and the most we have got without trying is 47.

Congrats on the new boat - had a look at over the vessel at the Hillarys Boat Show. Great set up. We luv ours and i am sure your guys will see the difference in the handling.
Just one question - why no recovery ladders on the side of the cab, thought they were standard on FESA boats. We has installed both sides and they are great for getting people out of the water.
