Hello, Everyone
Can anyone tell me what they use for catching mackeral around dampier/karrath. I am from the east coast and am use to catching spannish on wogs with gar fish, but when I went to the tackle store today they didnt know what garfish were. Can anyone give me any hints on what they use to catch them please?
Thanks,

Doesn't sound right to me
Doesn't sound right to me either. Your usual wog/gar rig rig will work fine on Wa Spaniards. Other option is to troll a large diving lure. I like xrap xd 30's but much of that is personal choice.
Even the servos in Karratha sell gars usually plus they are quite easy to catch if you burley up in one of the sandy, shallow bays around the islands.

i use deep diver X raps if trolling 6-7kts. then have a livey on a ballon if out wide fishing the bottom. if your keen to try madilin shoals and fight the sharks for fish you will get heaps of action.

Pardon my ignorance
But over here wogs normally means maggots used to catch herring. Can you clarify what a wog head is.
gardies sold up there but easy to catch as mentioned. Burley up and use a light hook with a little prawn/squid etc.
When BBounching float a balloon out with a circle off choice gently through the top lip off a live gardie, and bob's your uncle.

Its a type of weighted metal
Its a type of weighted metal pusher head that you rig a gar inside the skirt.
