Cervantes in April

I've done some quick reading and it looks like there's some thumping herring up there and tailor so I'm keen to have a crack with some poppers and send some herring back out on a hook to avoid the rays but are there any squid around in April up there or is it going to be too warm for them?

Any other tips would be welcome, I have a 3m dinghy which I will take up if it's going to be no wind and swell otherwise I'll be landbased.

Hi jack

I fished the club field day in Cervantes area last April.
Tailor were scarce on that night, but a larger specimen turned up after dark at about 9:30pm. Went near enough 2kg.

Also had a fillet picked up and dropped, and next cast the next fillet was picked up by a nice 7kg gummy shark.

a few herring presented the next day but the story of the weekend was the insatiable appetite of the pickers.
Mulies stripped before sinker hit bottom.

By all accounts the pickers have been really bad up there for the last two years, they tend to calm down at night or earlier if the tailor arrive to scare them off. If they don't turn up then it is a long night for no fish normally.

Cheers,
D80
