Ciguatera

Nice fish Habanero.

I've got a mate who lived on the Cayman Islands for a few years (lucky bugger!) and his "Test Kit" for Ciguatera involved cutting off a piece of fillet and putting it next to an ant nest. If the ants ate it, he would. Every now and then he would find a piece that they wouldn't touch, needless to say it wasn't eaten. Reckons the locals used this method all the time, not sure if I'd want to trust the Aussie ants as having the same "taste" as the Cayman ones!

Yeah , heard of some strange tests for Cig over the years , one was give a small piece to the cat (or the wife) if the cat dies don't eat it!!

Depth , was about 18-20m , the clarity is what takes me back there year after year...Thanks for comments.
