Clearville Fishing

Managed to get the dinghy in the water up here, winds been a pain but we’ve been mainly fishing the creeks, muddies have been easy and the jacks and threadies have been the dominant fish hitting the lures. Haven’t managed a Barra yet, one of the guys in the boat with us lost a nice fish at the boat. One of my mates here has a Thai wife, we’ve given her access to our kitchen. She’s done things to those crabs and fish I’ve never seen or tasted before. Hopefully they hang with us for a while.

I love cleaverville. Once hooked a nice Tarpon while trawling not far from the boat ramp. Heaps of fun on light tackle but lost it. Threadies and Jacks. Yummo

The variety here seems to be quite varied, haven’t seen many threadies the last couple of days, but the jacks are plentiful, got a couple of nice cod which I don’t mind, we can’t really keep a lot of fish as you can understand, so fresh cod fillets are on for tea tonight.

Going to change the scenery

Sat, 2019-02-09 18:34

Going to change the scenery tomorrow, have had a local mob come here and being wankers. Tried to pinch my boat today. I generally get along ok with the indigenous mob. But get some alcohol into them, they’ve been on it since 7 o’clock this morning.

Still with one of them, the other fella went south, going back to Perth I think, we’ve gone north a bit, onto a rest stop at Peawah River, they have a dump spot so we’ll empty the black tank and go back to Whim Creek, best burgers there.
