Hi guys!
Would like to know if fellow members cook food/BBQ on their boat? If so, what sort of cooker do you use and the pros and cons?

Mini webber Q sits on my baitboard perfectly. Cant beat a sausage sizzle on those cold mornings!! Small, not too heavy, easy to store up the front of the boat and has a little tray that slides out which you can wash any fat off (as most bbqs do haha). Can cook anything on them.

still buy the cans in Bunnings, my stoves have a pressure relief valve.
But I certainly am a little more careful with how I use them-no large pans etc

No
I dont know what you read but at no stage have they said they are banning the gas cartridges it's only the sale of the stoves until they sort a couple of issues out and get them recertified

Ok, so portable butane
Ok, so portable butane cookers are no go, so the most safest option would be a portable gas cooker/BBQ that uses LPG? What about those disposable charcoal or briquette cookers?

Cookers,
I have a variety of different cookers I use, depending on what I need, I usually move them to various spots in the boat depending on the conditions, (wind a boat movement). It's worth mentioning being aware of the hazards, mainly petrol fumes and keep you cooker in a ventilated area and away from fuel filler and fuel breather locations, also making sure the cooker does not fall off the esky, bait board or get knocked over.

Cobb cooker for me
Party pies and sausage rolls and also toasted sandwiches.goes down well on winter mornings. So do the donuts ! No probs with the round briquettes that are self lighting, flame only on for a few minutes till it lights then flame less , obviously keep away from fuel etc, same as you would all open flames on above cookers and bbqs.

Some good options there,
Some good options there, guys!
My fuel tank is underneath the motor well so its out of the way and less risky. The breather hole is on the transom.
I am considering making a seat box for the passenger side which flips forward. Under that will be a cooker. Thoughts?

The guys using weber q's...
The guys using weber q's... where do you stow you gas cylinder? for safety reasons it should be outside the cockpit of the boat because lpg being heavier than air will displace the air and fill an enclosed space if there is a leak. and there is a risk of a real big bang.
I would like to be able to stow mine on the wash board so it vents out overboard if it leaks. just haven't figured out how to mount it yet....
Fish! HARD!

A mate of mine uses the Cobb
A mate of mine uses the Cobb cooker as well, very impressive lights it chucks what he wants to cook inside, and then just puts it on the deck in an out of the way position, no heat through the bottom. Ash and remainder of the brick is just tossed overboard. Great little units.

I have the baby Q and it is
I have the baby Q and it is great to cook whatever you want to, BBQ meat and fish or even a roast. Fits neatly on the bait board. I also have the cobb supreme and used that on a creek overnighter in the tinny. Got her started in the arvo while trolling for Barra. Put it up on the front cast deck, plenty of cold beers and the smell of roasting pork and lamb and veges was amazing. Can recommend both.
Cheers
