Coral Bay Closed Post Cyclone

Coral Bay closed post cyclone.
Just wanted to let everyone know despite what you may have heard the town of Coral Bay is not open for business at this stage. None of the accomodation is available, what accomodation we do have is being used by local workers, ses and fesa. It should not be too lone before we are ready to go but at this stage the town is simply not safe. The roads may be open but the town is not. As soon as anything changes I will let you all know.

Should be good to go in a few days so you should be right. Will updates soon as there is a change. Locals that are in town have just been allowed back to what's left of their vans.

Go
How did you get on?
Boat was snug as a bug here, only three yachts washed up and the two in the Fascine got pulled off the shore yesterday leaving the "concrete footpath" Tarquin, in the fishing boat harbour up in the mangroves for something about three times bigger than the both rescue boats put together to drag it off.

Count
They don't count, there was a couple where they tied them down to the trailer and the trailer either overturned or decided to try to escape through a cyclone fence.

Tantas is fine
Tantas is fine. You woundnt even guess a cyclone just went through. Wind went from se so blew the ocean flat to nw and only had a few hours to do damage. Only 100mm of rain. Dont expect any shady trees in exy caravan parks for a few months. Most trees have been stripped bare and wind burnt or have fallen down pruned back and stood back up on props. No structural damage at our park but the old rickety shearing shed out the back has seen better days. In the middle of it we were wondering what all banging was, and bits if tin and wood flying around were coming from.

Hi Mate
How are you all up there. Miss the dog shitting on the ramp.
Hardly recognise the main street next to the CVP. Almost all the tree uprooted. WOW.

bloody cyclones still chasing us down southwest, copped much needed rain, not much but good enough. Lest we were not at montey's with a rush trip home. Finally got boat wet in ocean, good day couple of Dhufish, couple of baldies and a couple of good kg' as keepers, lot of other stuff as well as plague of sambo's. Leave them for the young fit dudes. How's new pup going? Moose says woof (hi) feel for carnarvon best bananas

Hey George. Good to hear you and the boat are back into it and back into fish finding form. Like you, bit of rain here but not enough to fill more than a few puddles around the place and wash the roofs of the houses. New pup good, miss you guys. Talk soon
Cheers

Looks like a we will be
Looks like a we will be ready to start opening up to guests in the next day or two. The whole town has really gotten together really well and worked their arses off to get the place safe and now starting to look like the coral bay we all love again. A lot more work to do but once the insurance contractors hit the place we should be close to 100% for Easter. Just with a few less trees.

The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
