Trolling

Been a while since Ive been up there but had good success with a downrigger in about 30m big Gars on the chingaurd trolling rigs .

Youll see them hanging mid water on your sounder.

You wont have to go far out of the Northern entrance either.  Big slimies Blue Mackeral and Wolf herring will all get the bigger ones. One thing I want to try is the theory of the battleship grey painted deepdivers. Might be a good way to utilize old lures.

Good luck and Ill be keen to see what you get.

Ive done well  coming out of the Nth Entrance  across from Muades Pt? I think it is and heading south along the back of the  reef . It could have been a bit deeper but mostly 25-30m  We did cover alot of ground and got Big eye as well (Ithink that was just by chance ) we werent trying for tuna. Get them in fast too as the sharks were a pain.

Make sure fire way is to get

Make sure fire way is to get into deeper water 50m at least and float out an unweighted Mulie or small live bait, won't take long. We do it on most trips when the bottom bite is slow and usually end up with 15kg models.
