Coral bay trip
Well spent 3 weeks in coral bay at end of April and May was pretty good sun shining and the flies were shocking but still had a great time with the family and friends I got to take my niece up a week before my sister to spend some time with her was awesome.
week 1
first week was waking up to strong easterly winds and they were not calming down till the arvo so most fishing was mainly fishing the arvo bite.
was still great for the few hours we got out pretty cool coming through the south passage at night and having no swell what so ever. Had a mate come down from exy and fished with him out of the North grabbing hold of a few goldban and robbos even hooked a marlin of the bottom again but no luck. Had another mate who was holidaying in exy had enough of the wind there headed to coral bay but was met with strong winds but by lunch calm to nothing and headed out few reds and a nice baldie and spangos and 2 cobia. Week one ended with a cyclone building of the coast and by Friday lunch we got told to pack away our camp site. Thanks to people's caravan park for giving us accomodation for the night was good
week 2
my sister and brother in law had shown up with my 2 nephews and they were keen to go fishing. Got to take them out on a very calm day but the fish did not wanna play only a few small reds and just honey comb and black snapper but they had a ball. Week 2 was same as week one not as many flies tho which was good but still mainly had easterly winds dying off in arvo but still found new ground on a trolling day for bills turned into an awesome days fishing as we covered so much ground. Even it out for a deep drop in 200 meters first time out of coral bay so was a learning curve but got Rosie and goldban was still happy. Our 2nd week up there we also had our 3rd wedding anniversary and we decided to head back to where it happened at the Novotel Exmouth was an awesome day with the wife . We ended up catching up with a mate who lives there and came up with a plan to head back up and fish out of exy in his boat
week 3
was the same fishing when we can and having a ball with my family I got to take my niece and my sister out one arvo after the wind calmed off and they had s ball catching trevally and spangos on light gear my niece put everyone to shame by catching the most fish but my sister got the biggest spango but also took home the tool of the trip when she snapped a rod it happens. Did another deep drop this time with me nephew he did a great job and got him self a great pinkie and the wife also got her first ruby and first for the boat. After the deep drop we heading in to a spot I marked when trolling and it payed off with reds robbos and sweet lips plus other fish was mentle my nephew hook and wound up his own red emp to have the hook pull on the surface oh well that's fishing he still had a ball. This was ment to be our last day out as we been told it was going to get windy. Woke last day in coral bay so it was pack up day to leave the next morning but woke up to no wind I phoned my dad and told him 10 o'clock we are heading out and glad we did heading out to a spot seen a flare up marked it drifted it and told the old boy to drop and bang soon as it hit the bottom double head reds of course last day to was glass off conditions and we caught our 6 reds plus a rankin was an awesome father and son day and more memories with my dad and we was back at the ramp at 1. So that was the trip was great to spend it with my family and friends and now I have new ground to fish Cheers for reading Hayden

cruise control I love my wellcraft it's an absolute weapon one happy owner
sharks are still around I just don't use mullies just fresh bait or squid seems to keep them away for a bit but still there in big numbers and once they come in leave and head atleast a couple nm away

Well done mate
Some classics there. 2 fairly unusual ones. I am sure that is a baldie not a bluebone, and I would think that is very unusual for up there, and the Pinky is also at the end of it range above Carnarvon.
My question if Ok to ask is what depth did you get the Robbo's in. If they were more common I would rate them near the top off the table eating wise.

Pinkies
Have got pinkies in reasonable numbers off the Muiron Islands north of Exmouth. There is a known schooling ground for them 10nm north of Gnaraloo bay. Somewhere I have a sounder shot of 150 feet of them in 200 foot of water
