Cricket season
hi everyone. Got my ride cricket match of the season starting tomorrow. Bowling at number 3, batting at number 5. I am actually a way better batsman than bowler, the line-up is in random order. My correct age-group according to the district even though I am 14 is under 14's (I don't know why) but my club is very short in numbers and this year we only have 3 junior teams and 3 senior teams. So I'm in year 8 and I'm playing in under 17's (im facing year 11's pace bowling, which isn't exactly my idea of fun if you get sit by a bumper (which I have never had happen to me) but I love the challange). It's only my second year of playing cricket, I am a late starter. Last year as my first season I played 2 age groups above in under 15's but averaging 8 runs (which is actually pretty high seeing as though you get automatically retired after 40 balls). My top score was 22. I finished the season with 11 wickets in 8 games as a medium-fast bowler.
Anyway that's enough about me. Is anyone else starting another cricket season or follow 20/20 big bash? Or does anybody follow the NBL closely? It would be great to know how everyone else follows the sports once footy is finished!

EDIT: sorry if there is random words in there, the iPads autocorrect mixed with the small keyboard typing can make funny words sometimes!

Yeah, I love me cricket, hope to get to a few games this year now we are in the city. Want to go to some scorchers games. I played plenty of cricket in my youth, especially indoor cricket. Played that right back when it first started, at places like the Pheonix Hotel and another over at Montreal st in Freo. Then a few nights a week at ICA in Myaree when it really started to take off.

I'm playing 17's and maybe a few games for seniors at Sorrento/Duncraig. First game in a couple weeks will be my 49th game for the club. Started U14's in year 6 when we moved up to Perth. Played U14's twice and U15's twice

I love cricket...but as for playing it, its probably best I remain retired haha. Played nearly all my cricket in Port Hedland...had short stints at Greenwood and Wanneroo after.
Who's going to the World Cup? Can't wait for it. Got my tickets for India/WI and Aus/Afghanistan

Love my cricket!
Although my age is catching up with me, back is made out of glass these days and my shoulder feels like it's gonna fall off...
But i will play for as long as i keep enjoying it. Captaincy can get stressful at times (district comp, young blokes and their egos!)
That said, less cricket = more fishing!
