I have had cans for years mate and it works just fine. i always forget I've got a few cans around and keep buying more. Then find the old ones....A bit like lures and swivels.

How good is Inox?
Seems like a lot of people on this site use Inox - is it any better than other lubricants like CRC for example? Is it more suited to a salt water environment than other products?

Inox
Big Frank,
Inox is good in the sense that it doesn't contain any petroleums, silicons, acids or kerosines. I use it to spray my outboard as it gets a bit of salt underneath the cowl from time to time. I have since been told that another product called Lanox(made by the same manufacturer) would be better suited to this application as it won't harden rubber hoses and the like, opposed to Inox.

you
should use silicon spray if you are spraying over wires, hoses, etc. it wont deteriorate the rubber insulation etc, plus it doesnt conduct.
silicon spray under the cowling, lanox everywhere else that needs it (including trailer springs, hubs, inside trailer tubing etc).
marine grease on all my nipples......

Thanks Lads
Looks like I go shopping for Inox and Lanox tomorrow and the CRC is kept for the lawn mower - Bunnings hopefully will stock both.
Don't know if the missus would appreciate marine grease on my nipples Scotto but I'll give that a crack as well.....

hi fellas - I have both
hi fellas - I have both Inox, Lanox and WD40...
Scotto, just to confirm - out of these which is a silicon spray? have been spraying inox over the internals of the motor (wires etc) - should I be using lanox on the internal of the motor and Inox on the external ? (eg, over the paint, props, bolts etc)

sillicon spray
sillicone spray doesnt have a name, its just plaine sillicon spray by crc, ussaully in yellow/black can, plus i've been using inox on outboards motors and doubt it hardens rubber much anyway because on the can it says its fine for plastic and stuff, its not like it sits in a bath of it or something
not sure of this, correct if wrong but i read somwhere not to put sillicon spray on electricals because its a semi conductor
