Dogfight 6500 Tufline 100lb capacity?

Hi all

time to respool the dogfight and was wondering if anyone knows exactly how much XP tufline 100lb will fit on it?

Reason I ask is that I know the 300yrd spool will go close, but didn't want to be caught short and wanted to know if I need to spend the extra for the 600yrd spool.

Have done a bit of net searching and 100lb tufline is .49mm diameter, but cant find the .mm capacity breaskdown for the dogfight anywhere... I know I could go the backing to make up the difference on the 300 if its not enough, but would rather not if possible.

cheers in advance

I was in a similar sort of dilemma lately and always opted for 600 or larger spools just to be sure.  Can always keep as spares anyway if the dogfight takes exactly 300 yards.

Pretty certain the larger spools are cheaper as well.

The website here

The website here http://daiwafishing.com.au/products/saltiga-reels/ says that it will fit 350mts of pe8 which is .47mm and 480mts of pe6 which is .405mm (provided Daiwa are using standard pe measurements).

My slightly retarded maths brain says that you should get approximately 310 - 315 metres of braid at .49mm.  Mind you, I'm happy to stand corrected.

The idea of buying a 600m

The idea of buying a 600m spool is good good but assuming you fill your reel up and you are now left with ..... ? 350m or 250m ?
Wouldn't it be nice if the manufacturers slipped a marker of some kind every 100m , Not that difficult I would have thought.
