Hey guys I'm heading to dwellingup in November and I was wondering what areas I should try for Redfin, I'm not asking for any exact spots just areas to try. Also what lures to use.
cheers for any responses guys,

Redfin catchin...
Good luck on your trip. When I do the annual run to the Warren at Pemberton we keep it simple. Fishing from kayaks we just "tea bag" any 2 inch soft plastic around the snags. I spend a lot of time getting a plastic that looks like a small yabbie and match it with a light gauge front weighted hook. Stay light on the line and hook weight, 6lb is absolute max line class. Important to get hooks with eye located above weight, this will prevent snags and lost gear. If you use a plastic looking like a fish, make sure the tail is very short otherwise you will miss many strikes...too a while to sus that one out. Contact Osprey Outdoors at Mandurah (nothing to do with me at all) they have and post the only supplie of yabbie plastic I'm awear of. They are a little big, but better than naught. My preference is for the Storm yabbies in brown or purple. If you find a Storm yabbie supply please let me know.
All of this applies equally to bank fishing around snags, just use the longest rod you can get your hands on. Remember the tea bagging activity is to keep the plastic in the strike sone for as long as possible.

Fish the deep pools, slow or
Fish the deep pools, slow or fastwater, 2.5 inch paddletails or curly tail grubs. i find the ones with red flecks in them work best arround there. A leadhead hook between 1 to 1.5 gram works well. use the thinest hook you can as it is best to work the lure as low and slow as you can and you will lose a few to snags. I have found that thin hooks will straighten a bit before the 6lb nanofil breaks and come off the snag. Then i bend the hook back with small pliers.
