Electric motors with spot lock

Hi guys ,
Ive been looking at the Lowrance ulterra leccy motor set ups. In particular one suitable for a 20 ft fibreglass boat.I think best suited would be 36vlt 80 or 110 lb thrust with the 72inch shaft . Also have any of you fellas hooked them up to your GPS ? So you can set it from your console or via remote.Looks like its going to be exxxy so wouldnt mind a bit of feedback before pulling the trigga.
P.S or are there a better brand of electric available that anyone has used ?
Cheers
Willo

i dont have first hand experience
but surely spot lock is the game changer..
i dont know about you but long drifts dont do it for me.
major considerations are extra weight unless your happy to fork out for the light but pricy batterys and self deploy as that seems to be the thing that farks up with them.
personally I'd do it if i was cashed up too.
Reverse cycle a/c supply and install - Ducted and wall splits

Watching this thread with interest, I also would like to have spot lock. Long drift with sea anchors are hit and miss over good ground
would the motor be off the front or back of the boat ? Ideally the front but my boat has a high bow that would make this difficult.

Be careful about saltwater
Be careful about saltwater use, talked to a lowerance rep at the Gold Coast boat show and
He said only freshwater so far.warranty won't cover saltwater.
but spot lock is the way for fishing.
Or do mean minn Kota ulterra??

A good mate of mine has a full self deploy, spot lock motor guide 36V. Absolute game changer, enables him to fish small edges that he hasn't been able to fish drifting.. in any depth. Set him back around 10k, he is very pleased.

Hey guys thanks for the
Hey guys thanks for the replies , ive got a 6mtr haines centre console ,so quite heavy. Basically i have read up on the minni kota self deployable motors , i think you can pair them with lowrance gps . while researching the above i noticed that there are a few different electrics on the market. So was interested if anyone has first hand knowledge of them. Secondly i think i would need at least 110 pnd thrust with 36 vlts to run it , so 3 batteries . which turns out to be the most expensive .So question is do reckon i would get away with 24 vlt and 80 pnd thrust. Sqidvicious it would be soley for salt water and yes i did mean the minn kota ulterra.
Also i am leaning toward a lowrance gps , but am open to suggestions as long as it can be paired with an electric motor.
Cheers and awaiting your most knowledgeable answers lol

I haven't used any of the new ones with spot lock..but had 2 minn kotas growing up with tinnys fishing the blackwood. First was a transom mount, second was foot control bow mount, they were both excellent and didn't have any issues. Minn Kota would be the market leader at a guess, but you'll pay for it. Mate hasn't had any issues with his motor guide, excellent for the price (still expensive). He runs the 36v on his ally centre cab, so I'd suggest you need the same. Shaft length is obviously critical. Lithium's have come right down in price, Life Po4x 120ahr $780 at itech.
