Cheers Jamie
The glass box was very simple to make but the sliding door finished up pretty agricultural. I priced up a small window frame from Marine windows and i was quoted around $150. Im sure there are much prettier ways to make small perspex sliding door but im just not aware of them. I hindge door would be easy but i didnt want that.

Nice but it's not really necessary. I usually soap and spray mine down.

Thanks for that snap
Being the fcv 295 I believe it can't be open at the back at all, so mine are going to be enclosed with just the face showing, to eliminate any moisture, cause the 295 is not a sealed unit at the back. All it has is a metal plate covering a cicuit board and the wiring. My moulded box will have air vents to release any hot air, nuts embossed for knobs to add a bracket, rubber grommets for cabling at the rear. Should have the plug made for the mould this weekend so will put up a pic

Tell me more
Tell me more about the bow sprit, I could be interested, will it stow a delta. How do you propose to bolt it so it has the strenth to take anchor loads and leverages.

wel, good question...
There isnt much space from the anchor well to the nose. The sprit will stick out about 400mm from the nose. 16mm marine ply glassed in the centre, total thickness about 25 - 30 mm. 4 big bolts to secure it plus the bollard. The part which concerns me is the leverage which hangs past the nose, will it be strong enough if the part that hangs past the nose is longer than the part from the anchor well to the nose...mmm...does that make sense ? How much pressure will it be able to take. More rope less pressure perhaps.I wonder if there is a formula....till, you seem to be creative with maths formulas?

Its a fair point. Really
Its a fair point.
Really need to see a diagram, its all about the force times the distance v's the holding power of the bolts in the fiberglass.
That said, I'm always a bit disturbed at the boat show when I see quite long bow rollers held in by three piddly little screws ...
