hey Ben - got a couple of rods you might be interested in that are perfect for fireblood, wll do a good price if you want let me know.

As for lures, plenty of raiders in 30-60gm range is a good start. Also lead head jigs and soft plastics - the snapbacks are probably the pick as far as longevity goes. Green is good, as is pink and black. take different size jig heads and make sure they have strong hooks.

Trolling wise you are a bit limited with that size reel, but smaller laser pros and scorpions will take plenty of mackies and cobia.

If I had to take one colour it would be orange and white, as opposed to red/white, but either work well

what area do you live in ? . if you call into the tackle shack and speak to Matt in malaga or oceanside and speak to Ryan or Honsu in oconnor they have fished the area and done quite well and would point you in the right direction and being on Fishwrecked you would get a discount as they are sponsors of this site. just tell them who you are. with the little experience i have had trawling we use the x raps , they work well on mackies
