Exmouth report, good :) and bad :(

Hi All

Well we are home after 7 days in Exxy. This was my 8 year olds first trip away with the boys.

Weather treated us fairly well with at least 4 reasonable days out in our hire boat.

Fishing was pretty slow, we did manage a few spanglies each day with a mackie, mangrove jack and lots of sharks!!!!!

Water colour was still poor with dark green and brown patches all around, even the shallows around the islands were poor.

Wednesday night 22/2/12 i was robbed! Some scumbag or scumbags got into our boat and stole $2500 worth of my rod/reels and lures!

I did report it to the local police in exxy. With Gamex and the Fishwrecked comp coming up plz be aware and dont leave anything in ya boats at night.

Stolen: Diawa Sealane reel loaded with 80lb orange frog braid on a Shimano Tcurve 24kg rod.

Shimano Tekota 700 loaded with yellow 50lb braid on a mariners 10-15kg rod

Shimano Arelex 6000 loaded with 30lb yeloow braid on a Okuma graphite 10-15kg rod

Saltwater lab lure wrap with 60 hardbodied and skirted lures in it.

I have been visiting exxy now for 20 years and this is the first time i have been stolen from, if any one can help with info or you see any of this gear for sale

contact me via pm or report it to Exmouth police. Cheers

not good news on the theft

Sun, 2012-02-26 09:17

not good news on the theft front . it always seems to happen around this time of year.

looks like your young bloke is happy with that spanglie. them sharks are going to be a prob all the time, i think its getting worse. sounds like your trip away was worth it apart from low lifes taking what wasnt theirs. hope you get your gear back but wouldnt be holding your breath. insurance may cover the stuff

i noticed this year the house we rented over xmas from ray white made special mention to not leaving any valubles in your boat due to recent theft.

in the last 8 years it was the first time they had printed it.

Always the hard decision when

Always the hard decision when up north, unpack the boat at the end of a long day and repack it in the morning or just leave it in there as you are up north away from most of the element! Unfortunate thing to happen.

Yep

There has been a few things go missing around town, has been 2 trailers disappear lately and a few small thefts.  Seems there is a new scumbag in town, hopefully won't take the cops long to find out who it is.  Bad luck about the fishing, echoes my findings last week, pretty quiet on the bottom.

might be a good idea to talk to the people at the hockshops in canarvon and geraldton and give them a description of what was stolen and perhaps notify the local fishing clubs. just a thought very sorry to hear of your loss the young bloke looks as pleased as punch
