Where`s Ya Beats ?

We all spend time getting to our favourite fishing spots in either our cars, 4WD or boats, what sort of systems do you`s have to crank up the tunes? i`m particularly interested to see set ups in boats ( subs amps ). I used to do heaps of country driving and would have gone bonkers without quality music, i`ve just reached the old fart category, but still love a good Dubstep track

The bazooka tubes work well

The bazooka tubes work well in a well enclosed area, had one for 12 months in a hilux utea good set of splits sound awesome. Keeping the salty air at bay can be tricky. Power draw is a big concern when Miles from nowhere

Got to love dirty dub, nice one Deezy

Have a fusion stereo in the boat connected to the stock Trophy speakers (pretty average) esp. in comparison to Steve231's set up man he gets some volume out of that

If your not amping your system and running off the headunit only, you are limited to a clear signal at volume. Fusion do a good marine package for the briney applications as we all know salt and electricals are not friends.

Kalbarri Classic

The annual pilgramage is on again and besides the fishing i love the drive up there. i try and take at least two new cd`s to blood and resist the temptation to pull out the old favourites. I should invest in an ipod for ease of storage of music and accessability but the quality is not quite there on some of the SQ tracks i like to listen to.

My sons and i spent alot of hours preparing the wagon to sound right, and all genres of music play pretty well. Another sub or two would sound awesome for my lads music, but i still want to retain the use of the cargo area.

here`s a link for those interested in our project, just follow the build in the albums, cheers john.

Old fart listens to

Sun, 2012-02-26 11:53

C&W when he drove klms after klms up and down WA, he has so many old tapes some going back 25yrs, still play, what ever was fitted in the truck when driving for a sterio/cd/tap deck.

The Prado has a good sound system but unfortunate can only play my head banging music (old farts description) when old fart isn't in the 4x4, so you can image when he's not in the car off I go volume up, with dire straights, ac/dc, rollingstones, powder finger, elvis, roy orbinson, gene pitney love all music, also love full bore Opera, Pavroti, get a few stares when I pull up at a red light with Pavrotit nearly bouncing me out of the car. hahahaha

Music in the boat, no way I'd be chucked over board if I even mention music to fish by. hahahahah I quote, "You are out there to f....king well fish, not go to a disco," hahahaha get my drift fellas.  Old fart recons the vibration of the music going through the hull (Back bass) would scare off even a shark hahahahaha  poor dear, told you all he is a old fart.

Roberta, i`ve got my own

Roberta, i`ve got my own theories on hull vibration and resonance, the top game boats all around the world beat to a different frquency, Billfish are attracted to certain ones and not discounting the skippers skills, the boat has a huge bearing on the success.

Not a theory easily tested i would imagine, but would be good fun trying.

Interesting.  When barra trolling, we always have the tunes pumping and have done quite well in the Barra comps being the loudest boat on the river.
