...they get trapped in the biminis of the crayboats at night while chasing swallows in the marina. Skipper jumps into the wheelhouse in the morning, drives out to the pots, goes up the ladder and unzips the bimini to start pulling gear from the bridge, PRESTO, Hooty becomes a seabird! They can't land on water obviously, and can't recognise the land from a nautical point of view, so they aimlessly fly all morning until they can find something to land on and rest, like an aerial/bowrail/fishing rod.
I wonder how many get "released" out on the edge of the shelf during the whites run? That ISN'T cool.
Got a pic exactly like that from May 06 (might be mine fishcrazy). Thread is on that other fishing site..no not that one, the other one from TV . Our 'hooter' was 20 k out from Two Rocks one morning. It eventually flew off after a ten minute rest. The pic is not on the threaad anymore. The original should be home though.
I had a budgie drop in my boat some 20km out once. It just sat on the floor absolutely buggered for about an hour. Strong easterly all day. When it flew off it continued with the wind so it was stuffed.

Hi Ya,
Might be wrong but I don't think that is an owl. looks more like a hawk of some sort to me. Could be very wrong though.
Irrespective, a magnificant creature.
Cheers.
