Dunno what the ruzzuto finish is but I do a few half hitches around both lines then a couple round the mainline.

I've recently switched to the FG with rizutto finish and highly rate it. There is a great how to vid on youtube by the guy from MB custom lures.

 No need for half hitches

No need for half hitches mate. The whole point of the rizutto as i understand it is that it does away with half hitches altogether and as its pulled tight the rizutto finish reinforces up against the twists.

 I've had the rizzuto finish

I've had the rizzuto finish unravel after heaps of casts - if i use it these days i add a drop of loctite

alternating half hitches never unravel - also the japanese think that the half hitches that go up the mainline help the leader pass through the guides more smoothly - im not sure how true this is but i do at least 5 of them anyway

I like the Rizzuto for being able to trim my tag end close as to the knot. I lock my snells with this too, works well.
