Westerncraft whaler or an
Westerncraft whaler or an ocean whaler mate..
Or a Markham whaler cat would fall into your budget and are great boats for the money

Are the Westerncraft Whalers
Are the Westerncraft Whalers in the same class as the Ocean Whalers?
The reason I ask is that I have heard some less than fantastic reviews of the Westerncrafts and excellent reviews of the Ocean Whalers. Plus the Westernacrafts are often found quite cheap.
If the Westerncrafts are a similar ride to the Ocean Whalers I will keep an eye out for them myself.
Cheers

No, the ocean whalers are
No, the ocean whalers are definately a cut above, but in saying that, it depends on what you will be using the boat for.
i love my Westerncraft whaler as I mainly use it for inshore stuff, fishing channels, flats, cruising down the coast etc... The whole family comes out on it (missus and 5 daughters) and they love it!!
if you want a boat more capable of offshore/Rotto fishing, I'd definately look at the bigger foam filled ocean whaler.
i do take my whaler 20 odd kms out when I know the weather is fine.
Mine is powered by a 60hp four stroke Yamaha and cruises comfortably at 20-24 knots and sips the fuel.
i have owned 3 markham whaler cats over the years and they were fantastic cats for the money and I wouldn't hesitate in owning another provided they passed a structural survey. Note that I have heard a lot of people do not like the newer Markham dominator cats though and say stick to a 565 shark cat!
i highly recommend a seatrial in both Westerncraft whalers and ocean whalers! You will be surprised, but without knowing exactly what you need the boat to be able to do, I can't really recommend which would be ideal for yourself.

It's a bit more than you
It's a bit more than you wanted to spend, but are unbelievable boats with a face only a mother would love.
check out the hydrofield jaguar on gumtree for sale. $25000. It's a buyers market so 20k might get it
these tick all the boxes you have mentioned bar the price...
Read the reviews, google the problems, go for a seatrial... You will be surprised!

Another vote for baron
Another vote for baron sportsman, I have an 18ft and it's an awesome sea boat, nice and heavy for a smooth ride and stable at rest.

Yea I'm
the same Dave, Needs to be an outboard 19ft minimun if you want to keep enough deck space to fish 2/3 with confort as the cabin takes the room, but i loved the last one for that exact reason, no worries sitting in the sound on a rough night on the five in the morning as you have the protection, kids love it also for the river cruises.
Been looking at the Baron Sportsman & Pacemaker, both have good review's on this site with a few being refurbished. was keen on the swift craft for a while but these are rare to find with the cabin.
Gumtree holds a few, just need to modify your search.

Sounds as if the boat I have is your answer.
I have a Baron Outrider V1900. This is the Baron sportsman hull, but the engine is mounted out on a frame (pod). This means that all the deck is available for fishing, no outboard well, no inboard motor to take up room. Four persons should be able to fish on deck.
Same ride and handling characteristics as the Sportsman. Sleeps two adults in the cabin. new windscreen, twin batteries, Lowrance 12' plotter/sounder. New fuel tank. new Stressfree NG winch 80 meters of anchor line. Trailer good nick. All safety gear up to date and ready to go. Boat hull perfect condition, no paint or hidden spots. VHF radio with DSC. Yamaha 130HP Saltwater series low hours. had 37 knots, but I think it will do 40 now WOT. All serviced and ready. The other thing about this boat is manouvering at slow speed is easy as, this suits someone who has just got their ticket.
I would like to sell but the missus won't let me (then again what they will do if the price is right?).
