Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Hard work.
It's hard doing 28/7, very long time away but doing construction I work for 6 months or so then once a project finishes ill take a few months off, would make 150-180k a year only working 8-10 months. 2-3 weeks to go and ill take a few months off but a better roster would be awesome.
always looking for a new challenge!!

Ive been doing it in one form
Ive been doing it in one form or another for 24 years.
This is 5 weeks on 5 weeks off and not bad other than the time thing (9 years)
Prior to this was longlining for tuna/swords and 4-6 weeks on 10-14 days off and extreme hours, weather, returns and everything else but it got us over the line.
Before that crays, charter, mining all at long distance. Theres plenty of challenges to the family life and benefits, really what your whole family can make of it.
The kids dont know any different and maybe realize that we sacrifice and gain from the time apart-ripping them out of school for the odd Abrolhos trip, snowboarding trip to NZ etc

When we stayed on the Mermaid Spirit Adam there was a never ending supply of Magnums :) one guy had the record of four in one sitting. But you'd sweat the buggers out on the rig the next day.
Love the West!

worst thing I ever did was apply for a transfer from the rio marine workshop (best job I ever had but didn't realise it at the time)to a fifo job at west angeles worst thing maybe was I was one of the first Rio employees on site as most were still badged Robe employees I couldn't believe how they ran every thing until It broke I only lasted 22 months there which was considered long term

I love West Ang, best place
I love West Ang, best place I've been by far. You wouldn't recognise the place these days Peter. Mind you, I only work in the villages as the Safety Manager, but that sure has it perks.
Cheers

Only experience working away was on a shark boat (Thor) which we worked from cairns to Darwin long hours no sleep constantly throwing up from smell of emonia from the sharks coming over the side been threaten to be thrown over board by crazy nut case not all there skipper named bubbles. Scared the shit out of me out there fishing with a lunatic in middle of no where hence soon as boat hit land boof I was gone.I wonder if that crazy bastard still skippers.
