Finally caught a Spaniard

jeez, it's been a lousy year up here for the. We went out ealry today, got out to the 3-mile at very first light looking for some clearer water. Perfect conditions. Not a sign of activity until a few minutes before 7, when a double strike gave me this little spaniard and the other was dropped. Then things started to liven up a bit, with small numbers of fair size tuna making momentary appaerances, and even had a couple of vertical spaniards. One more strike, lost, at 7.30 so gave it away and pulled the pots.

Define plenty
Not plenty compared to last year? and last year was actually really average. From what I was told, a lot of absolutely fishless hours were done. The top-scoring pelagic boat 9 over 6m)had a lucky score on the last day and found a bait ball with some tuna, got four, which took him to five for the weekend, and he won it, regardless of how a certain organiser stuffed up the presentation and gave it to the wrong bloke.

I am coming up in a couple of weeks with the wife and kids, do you think it's worth dragging the pots up?

Would definitely be worth it.
Crays are really firing in places, mate has been bagging out without much problem. I forgot to mention, Uncle, there was a small black marlin caught and released down the cliffs on the weekend, I think it's somewhere on facebook. I reckon the weather has been the real problem, the water just never seems to clear up , and you have to drag it across their face before they can see it. Even away from the river, still green, although the temp is ok around low- mid 24's.
