Finally a toothy monster other than a bronzie.

Our weekend away managed a lot of first for us both diving and shark fishing. We managed to get 2 very nice nurse sharks in. Few photos where taken and off they went again. Was hoping for a big mako or hammerhead because of how deep the water was where we dropped our baits but ah we'll another species off the list but not a shark I want to catch again, they are lazy don't fight much at all and obviously being protected not something you want to be playing around with at all. Both big females swam off strongly and didn't seem worried about the catch and release.

bloody good size!
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

rags
Nice Fish Chris , They are blady lazy sharks and dont give much of a fight unless there is a decent rip running or a shore break they can use to there advantage . I just used to love the bite , pick up - drop u - pick up - drop u - then a slow pull to a flat stick ........

Stupid raggies they pick it
Stupid raggies they pick it and drop it about 5 times before they take off with it. Also the baits being about 10kg each they would of had trouble chewing them. Hope I get a big land based mako soon or a monster female bronzie so I can watch my spool get a bit empty again.

baits
For such big fish(big mouths) they sometimes eat with tooth picks , iv had them pick up - drop it 3/4 times while using a mullet flap bait , only small tennis ball size throw baits . Not agressive feeders , u can always call a raggie by the bite . Just watch them on the beach as they can turn very quickly and have been known to bite there on tails - the small pups 40 - 60kg are the worst as they normaly get landed when they are still green .

Wish a could but being land
Wish a could but being land based its hard to keep spots secret. One of my spots got found out and now every westerly wind there is usually 10 balloons out off that rock but most of them have no clue how to set there gear or land a big one so it's better to keep spots secret and fish a lot more different places so I don't lose all my spots.

Lovely set of teeth on these
Lovely set of teeth on these guys that's for sure and could well and truly make a mess of anything they grab. This spot I had never fished before. The spot I got those huge bronzies last year I haven't fished there since and all these sharks have came from different spots. I think the most we have a one spot is 3 so we are always trying new spots. The spot close to town I'm fishing ATM we have had 11 runs in the 6 hours we have fished there and landed a small bronzie about 2.2m with everything else making us look stupid and ending up loosing them.
